Timi Dakolo is a Nigerian singer who was born in Accra, Ghana on January 20, 1981. He is the winner of the first season of Idols West Africa in 2007, beating the runner-up, Omawumi Megbele with 63% of the votes. With his victory, he took home many prizes including a recording contract with Sony BMG.
HIS EARLY DAYS
Timi Dakolo was born to a Nigerian father, Bayelsa-native David and a Ghanaian mother, Norah, who died when Timi was thirteen. Although he was born in Ghana, Dakolo does not claim dual citizenship and holds a Nigerian passport. His grandmother Ateni Dakolo, who lived in Port Harcourt raised him, and he credits her as his early singing teacher. Although his parents came to take Dakolo to live with them in Lagos when he was three, Dakolo refused to leave his grandmother.
Timi Dakolo started singing in church at the age of twelve. In 2003 he joined the singing group Purple Love as a founding member. They dominated the Port Harcourt club circuit, but disbanded in 2005 as its members had gained admission into the University of Port Harcourt.
Before Idol, he won a local talent hunt contest G.E FACTO held in Port Harcourt.
HIS CAREER
In 2006, Dakolo auditioned for reality show Idols West Africa in Calabar. His songs of choice were Commissioned’s More Than I and Lemar’s Time to Grow. His vocals impressed the judges, and was seen as a contender for the prize. A week before the viewing of the Top 24 performances, Timi Dakolo received the news that his grandmother had died.
Timi Dakolo first auditioned in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria with Commissioned’s More Than I and Lemar’s Time to Grow. While in the competition, Timi Dakolo was never in the bottom 3. In the final three weeks of the competition it was revealed by the producers of the show that Timi had the highest number of votes each of those weeks.
While in the competition, Timi’s grandmother died, a week before the viewing of the Top 24 performances. This was a big emotional blow to him. At that time, he turned to his Christian faith for strength to pull through in the competition. Before going to Idols West Africa, Timi was a student of Communication Studies in the University of Port Harcourt.
After winning Idol West Africa in 2007, on January 1, 2008, on New Years Day, Timi Dakolo was shot at the lobby of the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt. He had gone to the hotel to attend a church service in the company of his friends. The attack was a random act of violence by a faction of Niger Delta militants and did not target Timi.
Although a hotel security guard was murdered in the attack, Timi escaped with a flesh wound, was rushed to the hospital, treated and discharged on the same day.
Timi Dakolo released his first single comprising three songs in October 2009. In 2010 he was nominated for Hip Hop World Revelation of the Year at The Headies.
In 2011, he released the song “There’s a Cry”. The music video was filmed in Nigeria. He is currently signed with Lone Records/Now Muzik.

Funny but true… so true that it is the ‘Truest thing in the Truest Community’…lol!
Anyway, this was what he had to say,
I love Hollywood no doubt but… I still feel there’s an itsy bitsy teeny weeny bit of racism. I mean why do I gotta believe that every black man in a movie apart from Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Forrest Whitaker, has to die? I’m sure you have noticed it
Lol!… I answered yes to that final statement because Auracle was so right in all he said although he forgot to mention Morgan Freeman, now apart from these set of ni**s every other ni**a has to die. Bulls**t!!! Well, Auracle didn’t stop there though, he continued,

I am a hundred percent in support with what my friend, Auracle said because I have seen the Hollywood Racism myself in several movies. These are a few of such movies; Z-Nation, Burn Notice Season 7, Hunger GAmes, The 100, Breakout Kings, Setup, Tears of the Sun, House of Nine, Wolverine ‘X-Men Origins’ and the most spectacular and craziest is X-Men 1st Class. In that movie the only member of the X-Men that died was the black dude who was actually meant to be the one with the power to adapt to survive anything…
This is a question we all need to answer sincerely; and knowing your temperament(s) doesn’t imply identifying which one(s) you are, you should also know your strengths and weaknesses.
Temperament is the combination of traits we inherited from our parents. It combines with other human characteristics to produce our basic makeup. Most of us are more conscious of its expression than we are its function.
Meet the four temperaments:
THE SANGUINE
Warm, buoyant, lively and “enjoying” person. Receptive by nature and an extrovert, feelings rather than receptive thoughts predominate to form his decisions. The sanguine has an unusual capacity for enjoying himself and usually passes on his fun-loving spirit. He is a fascinating storyteller and his warm, emotional nature almost helps you relive the experience as he tells it.
He can genuinely feel the joys and sorrows of anyone he meets and has the capacity to make him feel important, as though he were a very special friend-and he is, as long as he is looking at you. Then he fixes his eyes with equal intensity on the next person he meets.
A sanguine always enters a room “mouth first.”
His noisy, blustering, friendly ways make him appear more confident than he really is, but his energy and disposition get him by the rough spots of life. People have a way of excusing his weaknesses by saying, “That’s just the way he is.”
THE CHOLERIC
Hot, quick, active, practical, strong-willed, self-sufficient, and very independent. He is strongly opinionated, finding it easy to make decisions both for himself and for other people. Like the sanguine, he is an extrovert but not so intensely.
The choleric thrives on activity; he stimulates himself with endless plans, ideas, goals etc.
He is not frightened by adversities, they tend to encourage him.
His emotional nature is perhaps the least developed part of his temperament. He does not sympathise with others, does not show or express compassion. He is usually embarrassed or disgusted by the tears of others and is usually insensitive to their needs. He has little appreciation for music and the fine arts unless his secondary temperament traits are those of the melancholy.
Once he has started toward a goal, he may run roughshod over individuals who stand in his way. He tends to be domineering and bossy and does not hesitate to use people to accomplish his ends. He is often considered an opportunist.
THE MELANCHOLY
Probably the richest of all the temperaments, he is an analytical, self-sacrificing, gifted, perfectionist type with a very sensitive emotional nature. No one gets more enjoyment from the fine arts than the melancholy. He is prone to be an introvert by nature; but since his feelings predominate, he is given to a variety of moods which sometimes will lift him to heights of ecstasy that cause him to act more extroverted. At other times he can be gloomy and depressed, and can withdraw and become quite antagonistic.
The melancholy is a very faithful friend but unlike the sanguine, he does not make friends easily.
His reticence to put himself forward is often taken as an indication that he doesn’t enjoy people. Like the rest of us, he not only likes others but has a strong desire to be loved by them but finds it difficult to express his true feelings. Disappointing experiences make him reluctant to take people at face value; thus he is prone to be suspicious when others seek him out or shower him with attention.
The melancholy usually finds his greatest meaning in life through personal sacrifice. He seems desirous of making himself suffer and will often choose a difficult life vocation involving great personal sacrifice. No temperament has so much potential when energized by the Holy Spirit as the melancholy.
THE PHLEGMATIC
Calm, easy going, never-get-upset individual with such a high boiling point that he almost never becomes angry. He is the easiest type of person to get along with and is by nature the most likable of all the temperaments. MeekDrake Diss enters Nigeria. Yes, exactly what is on your mind right now. Why did you just squeeze your face? I mean it, it has entered Nigeria and it is really trending.
I was listening to Drake’s ‘Back to Back’ track (Meek Mill Diss) and it got me thinking. I begun pondering on what might have caused this diss between these two rappers. They said it’s a ghostwriting feud but is it?Or is it because of Nicki Minaj or any other issue that we are yet to know about? Anyway, the bigger question of this argument is who compared Meek Mill to Drake?
Lol… well, I have a new theory. It has been tested and certified that the MeekDrake Diss has officially landed in Nigeria. I ain’t talking about the way it is trending, no! I am talking about the fact that our Nigerian Artistes has taken advantage of the MeekDrake Diss to hide their own.
You all must have heard the cool song by Davido ‘FANS MI‘ where he featured Meek Mill, nice track right? Well, Wizkid went ahead and did the remix of his own track, OJUELEGBA with Drake. Looks suspicious right? Yes, I thought the exact same thing when I heard the tracks. Our artistes have decided become opportunists, but that’s none of my business.
Let’s get back to the main issue; the MEEKDRAKE diss! I just want to share some line from the Drake’s new Meek Mill diss, ‘BACK TO BACK‘ that followed the last one, ‘CHARGED UP‘. He really crushed that fellow and I bet Chris Brown would be so happy he isn’t the one in the center of this whole mess.

Brood of Vipers… Strange topic, I know but let’s look into it. First and foremost what is a brood of vipers? According to Matthew 12:34, in the King James Bible Jesus said to the Pharisees, “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh…”
Lol! I brought in the Bible to this because that’s where the inspiration came from. Anyway, Brood of Vipers can also be called Hypocrites. Yeah! I said that, HYPOCRITES!!! People who live around us; you know them, I know them. I actually prefer to call them LIARS. They live imaginary lives in their own world of fantasy and prefer to make people feel less of themselves.
You have seen them in your schools or places of work, you have also seen them in church, also on television; did I say ‘also’? I meant to say ‘mainly’ on television. If my brain serves me correctly they are popularly called ‘ITK: I too know’ in Nigerian pidgin. Meek Mill, originally known as Robert Rahmeek Williams is an American hip hop recording artiste from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was quickly marked to Atlanta-based record name Grand Hustle, owned by record official and individual American rapper T.I.. In February 2011, in the wake of leaving Grand Hustle, Meek Mill signed a record deal with American rapper Rick Ross’ Miami-based Maybach Music Group (MMG) imprint.
Meek Mill’s presentation studio album, Dreams and Nightmares, was released in 2012, under MMG and Warner Bros. Records. The album, preceded by the single “Young & Gettin’ It“, debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200. HIS EARLY LIFE
Meek Mill was born on May 6, 1987 to Kathy Williams in South Philadelphia. He has an older sister Nameesha Williams. Kathy grew up in poverty and her mother died when she was young. At home, Meek was shy and rarely spoke. As a kid, he became acquainted with another of his dad’s brothers, a pioneering local DJ known as Grandmaster Nell who was a notable figure in the Philadelphia hip-hop scene of the late-1980s and influenced the hip-hop artists Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff. His uncle influenced him and his interest in hip-hope grew. He was also influenced by the independent hip-hop artists Chic Raw and Vodka whom he used to emulate by watching their DVDs.
During his early teenage years, he would often take part in rap battles. He’d often stay up well past midnight filling thick notebooks with phrases and verses that he’d later draw on. Later he formed a group called Bloodhoundz. They would buy blank CDs and jewel cases at Kinkos, encouraging friends to burn them with the songs of the group and distribute them to people. When he was 18, he was arrested for illegally possessing a firearm and was beaten up the police. Because of the beating, his lips and both eyes became swollen and one of his braids was ripped out. He was charged with assaulting the police after two black cops gave a statement against him in the case saying he chased them down with a gun and tried to kill them. He was then put on probation.
HIS MUSIC CAREER
2003-08: Meek Mill, alongside three of his friends, formed a rap group and called themselves The Bloodhoundz. The group lasted long enough to release four mix-tapes.
2008-10: Mill released his fourth mixtape Flamers 2: Hottest in tha City, which spawned promotional singles “I’mSo Fly,” “Prolli,” and “Hottest in the City.” Upon the release of Flamerz 2, it caught the attention of Charlie Mack, founder and President of 215 Aphillyated Records. Mack was so impressed with Mill, that he immediately signed him to his management company. During that same year, Meek Mill also met the founder and owner of Grand Hustle Records, fellow American rapper T.I.. The Atlanta-based rapper was also so impressed by Meek Mill, that he offered him an opportunity to travel to Los Angeles, to meet with him and Warner Bros. Records; within one week both record companies offered him a deal. Although he was offered other record deals, Mill felt collaborating with T.I. was an opportunity of a lifetime and thus chose his label. However, just when things were starting to look up for Mill, a record deal and the chance to work with T.I., a setback occurred. He was arrested, charged with gun and drug possession, and ordered to serve seven months in jail. Mill was released early 2009.
Meek Mill with Wale, Swiss Beatz, P.Diddy, Rick Ross and Omarion
Under Grand Hustle, Mill formed a work relationship with the label’s resident disc jockey, DJ Drama. Mill and Drama teamed up to release the third edition of Mill’s Flamers series. The mixtape, titled Flamers 3: The Wait Is Over, was released on March 12, 2010 and is a “Gangsta Grillz mixtape”. The mixtape features his promotional single “Rosé Red”, which was later remixed with additional verses from fellow American rappers T.I., Rick Ross and Vado. Rick Ross contributed his verse after he was visiting Philadelphia and asked his Twitter followers who he should collaborate with; Meek Mill was the overwhelming response. The remix was included on Mill’s following mixtape, Mr. Philadelphia. Due to Mill’s and label-boss T.I.’s respective legal troubles, Mill was never able to release an album under Grand Hustle and they parted ways in 2010.
2011-12: In February, 2011, Rick Ross announced the signing of Mill along with fellow American rapper Wale to his Maybach Music Group (MMG) label. In March 2011, Mill was included in XXL’s “Freshman Class of 2011″. Later that year, he released his debut single, “Tupac Back”, featuring Rick Ross, from his label’s compilation album Self Made Vol. 1 (2011). That same year he released his second single, “Ima Boss”, also take from the compilation and featuring Ross. The song was later remixed, featuring T.I., Birdman, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz and Rick Ross. The remix charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #51, becoming Mill’s most successful single at that time. In August 2011, Mill released Dreamchasers, a well-received mixtape featuring his urban hit “House Party” and guest appearances from Rick Ross, Yo Gotti and Beanie Siegel among others.
In February 2012, MTV listed Meek Mill as the “#7 hottest MC” in their annual “Hottest MCs in the Game” list. On May 7, 2012 Mill released the second installment to his Dreamchasers series. The mixtape features guest appearances from Drake, Jeremih, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz and more. Mill has stated his favorite tracks off the tape are “Amen,” “A1 Everything” and “Racked Up Shawty” with French Montana and Fabolous. Within six hours of its release on mixtape website DatPiff.com, Dreamchasers 2 was downloaded 1.5 million times. On May 10, it was announced Meek Mill signed with Roc Nation management.
On June 19, 2012, “Amen” – originally included on Dreamchasers 2, was released as the lead single from Mill’s debut studio album. Before releasing his debut studio album Dreams & Nightmares, Mill received co-signs from both Mariah Carey and Nas, with him appearing on Carey’s 2012 single “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” and the latter stating, “I got my eyes on him. He’s the next one to take this shit over.” The album was released on October 30, 2012. Following an album release party in Philadelphia, Mill was detained by Philadelphia police after a car in which he was riding in was pulled over. No charges were filed, and Mill was released from custody. The album debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of 165,000 copies. In its second week the album sold 41,000 more copies dropping 6 spots on the chart to number 8.
2013 till date: Mill released the third installment of the Dreamchasers series, Dreamchasers 3. The mixtape featured guest appearances from Rick Ross, Akon, Future, Waka Flocka Flame, Wale, Trina and Jadakiss among others. The mixtape was scheduled to be released on May 6, 2013. However, he had announced that it would be pushed back, eventually to be released on September 29, 2013. He was produced by the famous French producer DIZPMUSIC for Dreamchasers 3. In November 2013, Mill announced that he was half-way finished with his second studio album, which was released in June 2015. On March 8, 2014, Mill announced that the album would be titled Dreams Worth More Than Money. Mill began dating rapper and singer Nicki Minaj in early 2015. Mill’s album topped the Billboard 200 as of the issue dated July 18, 2015.
On October 26, 2012, Meek Mill announced the creation of his own record label, Dream Chasers Records with the flagship artists Louie V. Gutta, Lee Mazin and Goldie. In early 2013, he also signed 17-year-old Louisiana rapper Lil Snupe moments after hearing his demo. The label has since released mixtapes by Louie V. Gutta and Lil Snupe.
HIS CONTROVERSIES
Meek Mill has had three great feuds so far, he is in fact presently in the third one with Drake.
The first was with Rev. Jomo K. Johnson, Philadelphia area pastor following the release of the lead single of Dreams & Nightmares “Amen“. The pastor called for a boycott of Mill due to the lyrical content of “Amen”. In a statement, he said that,
As a hip-hop fan, I want to encourage every rap fan in Philadelphia who is a believer in Jesus Christ, to boycott Meek Mill until he acknowledges this blatant disrespect. And being resident of North Philadelphia and pastor, I revoke Meek’s ‘hood pass’ until this happens.
On July 17, in an interview on the BET show 106 & Park, Mill stated,
I don’t think no preacher or no church approves of any type of rap music—because rap music, period, is a lot of bad stuff said. But at the end of the day, it’s real life. And me, I wasn’t trying to disrespect no religion or anything like that.
Next was his feud with Cassidy that started when Mill offered to battle several underground rappers including Cassidy. Cassidy would later accept the challenge, adding “if the money was right”. They participated in a short “twitter beef”, after which Cassidy released “The Diary of a Hustla“, which was originally thought to be a diss track towards Mill. This was later refuted by Cassidy. They both asked $100,000 each for the battle to take place. However, after Meek Mill dissed Cassidy’s song “Condom Style” (a remake of Psy’s “Gangnam Style”) Cassidy released a formal diss track towards Mill with “Me, Myself & iPhone“. Afterwards, Meek Mill responded with the diss track “Repo“, which Mill later said would be the final diss record he would release against Cassidy. Cassidy later said the feud was not personal, saying it was all in the spirit of hip hop. On January 6, 2013 Cassidy released a 10 minute long diss response titled “Raid“. Eight months later, on September 5, 2013 Meek Mill released another diss record towards Cassidy, titled “Kendrick You Next“, where he raps over the speculated diss by The Notorious B.I.G. “Who Shot Ya“. This is despite the fact he said “Repo” would be his final diss record. Three days later, Cassidy released a diss record titled “Catch A Body“, as a response.
Presently, his feud is with Drake; in July 2015, Meek Mill publicly criticized Drake on Twitter, calling him out for not writing his own lyrics. In a series of tweets, the rapper claimed his counterpart used a ghostwriter for the song “R.I.C.O.,” off Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money album. He also admitted that he was upset that Drake didn’t promote the album on Twitter, upon its release. Meek Mill commented,
Stop comparing drake to me too… He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out.
Meek Mill had identified the ghostwriter as Quentin Miller, a local rapper from Atlanta. Mill’s claims received support from Funkmaster Flex, an American hip hop DJ, rapper, musician and producer on New York City’s Hot 97 radio station. Flex released an audio recording that he claims was a reference track featuring Quentin Miller for Drake’s song, “10 Bands.”
Drake was supported by 40, Drake’s longtime producer, friend and collaborator, who claimed that not only does Drake write his own songs, he has also written #1 records for other artists.
No one is as talented as Drake … [there are] countless number ones and songs drake has written for others never mind himself, 40 said on Twitter.
On July 25, 2015, Drake premiered a track, titled “Charged Up” on the Beats 1 OVO Radio Show that is widely seen as a response to Meek Mill’s allegations. Drake highlighted Meek Mill’s relatively low sales volume and further claimed that the rapper was fading into obscurity. Drake also dissed Funkmaster Flex by promoting his rival DJ Clue.
Drake and boo, Nicki Minaj
Around 5 a.m. EST on July 29, Drake released an aggressive diss track named “Back to Back (Freestyle)” that further attacked Meek Mill. The track, streamed over 500,000 times in 4 hours, heavily suggested that Mill’s relationship with Nicki Minaj is lopsided in Minaj’s favor and also further criticized Meek Mill for not responding to “Charged Up” and for relying on Twitter to attack Drake. The track was released for streaming on the OVO SoundCloud account and on Apple Music.
On July 30, Meek Mill released a track attacking Drake titled “Wanna Know” through Funkmaster Flex on HOT 97. On “Wanna Know” Meek Mill sampled “reference” tracks that aimed to prove Quentin Miller as Drake’s ghostwriter while reasserting his ghostwriting allegations and criticizing Drake for being soft. Meek Mill also dissed AR-AB and Daylyt on the track. In the Drake diss track, Meek Mill claimed that Drake was urinated on inside a movie theatre. The track also sampled WWE wrestler The Undertaker’s ring entrance song, with a WWE spokesperson stating that,
WWE takes its intellectual property rights very seriously, and we’re looking into the matter, with WWE concerned that Meek Mill did not respect such property rights.
On the night of August 3, Drake attacked Meek Mill at his OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto by performing his diss tracks “Charged Up” and “Back to Back Freestyle“, while having a slideshow of internet memes mocking Meek Mill projected behind him. He also gave hint to the audience that he is making another diss track titled “3 Peat“, but it is not yet confirmed if it is in the works.

The role he’ll play in the Wonder Woman movie, for now, is under wraps, though the model of Natalie Portman in Thor, Hayley Atwell in Captain America, Amy Adams in Man of Steel, and Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight could give you some idea of what he’ll get up to. Chris’ involvement in the film is now official, and the deal which he signed includes opportunities for sequels, according to insiders.
While plot details are of course scarce, there is every reason to believe that Chris’ duties in the film will not be limited to Diana’s love interest, and he will be caught up in plenty butt kicking action as well.

HIS EARLY LIFE
John Boyega was born on the 17th of March 1992 in Peckham, London, to Nigerian parents of the Yoruba tribe. His first role was that of a leopard in a play at his primary school at the age of five. He attended Westminster City School as a teenager. He later took part in various school productions and attended classes at Theatre Peckham. He was a performing arts student at South Thames College in Wandsworth and was active in theatre productions there, including the lead in Othello in 2010. He said,
Normally you hear about Southeast London, and you hear about all the stuff that goes on down there, all the negative things, and the tabloids kind of stay away from all the positive things that happen that I see every day, which kind of outshines the negative.

John Boyega trained at the Identity Drama School in Hackney, and appeared in the plays Six Parties at the National Theatre and Category B at the Tricycle Theatre prior to being offered a role in the 2011 film Attack the Block. In September 2011, HBO announced that Boyega had been cast in the boxing drama pilot Da Brick, loosely based on Mike Tyson’s life. Boyega was expected to play Donnie, who is released from a juvenile detention centre on his 18th birthday and begins to examine what it means to be a man. The pilot was written by John Ridley, but was not picked up by HBO. Also in 2011, he acted in the film Junkhearts in which he portrayed a drug dealer who found some guns and tried to sell them.
John Boyega was chosen by Jesus of Screen International, as one of the “UK Stars of Tomorrow 2011″ and appeared alongside only two other actors on the front cover of that magazine in its July 2011 edition.
In March 2012, Boyega was cast in the film adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book Half of a Yellow Sun.
On 29 April 2014, it was confirmed that Boyega had been cast as a lead character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
John Boyega has stated in an interview that he is a fan of Marvel Comics, and that he had hoped to play the Marvel character Black Panther. Other movies he has starred in are Imperial Dreams (2014) and My Murder (2012).
He won a Black Reel Award for Best Actor in 2011 with the movie “Attack the block” at which he said,
I remember my manager telling me, ‘Be myself, be humble, keep rooted, keep God first’. Those words were very helpful.
