Dublin Ireland, November 7, 2014— Friendite, a global matchmaking platform in Nigeria, exhibited on the Official Web Summit on November 2014. Web Summit, the biggest tech gathering, consisting of the Who is the Who on the Internet, was held at Dublin, the biggest city in Ireland. Wall Street Journal reviewed the event as “The giants of the web assemble in Dublin.” Bloomberg also remarked, “Everywhere you go it’s buzzing and it’s electric.”
This giant event was joined by thousands of leading exhibitors, attendees, speakers and business partners in the world wide web. Top CEOs like Drew Houston, founder of Dropbox, and Zach Nelson, CEO of Netsuite, were also there. Friendite Global Limited has been listed as one of the 10 best start ups in Africa by the Web Summit, along with the 2 other Nigerian companies.
While Friendite global was busy pitching to several investors, fellow exhibitors and attendees, Lo and Behold, biggest British News Agency Sky News, dropped by with their Tech Correspondent, Tom Cheshire. Cheshire came around and asked for an interview about the privacy of users’ data on social network. The interview can be watched on Skynews.
Friendite had been invited to Web Summit event at Dublin earlier this year. It started when Emmanuel Emeka Okeke, CEO of Friendite Global Limited (FGL), applied for the web Summit Alph startup package. Afterwards, the Web Summit company called Okeke on Skype and asked questions that are related to his company. Questions like what Friendite was all about, what problem they were trying to solve, and what makes them unique were asked, and Okeke believes that the details he provided are what made them qualified for the Web Summit. Okeke mentions on his interview, “Online dating in Nigeria is pretty new. I’m glad Nigerians are beginning to embrace it. So, online dating in Nigeria is a good move.”
“We are 99% safe and free from fake profile users. Our site has the ability to translate web pages into multiple languages, Inter connectivity with social media, and the capability to partake in video calls,” Okeke goes on to say. “It also includes advanced games, popular videos, and pictures. Friendite.com also has a new voting tool to poll ‘who is hot’ and ‘who is not’ and so much more.”
Friendite.com intends to become Africa’s biggest dating website. As of now, they have already gathered over 76,000 users. Some of these users expressed their gratitude on Friendite’s service by posting on Friendite’s official page. One of Friendite’s users stated, “I wrote to thank you for all you are doing and still going to do to make singles find their perfect match, I have found my dream wife. and I know that I would spend the rest of my life with her.
