Unemployment should not weigh you down

Unemployment is not doomsday; it may seem like everything is wrong when you are without a job, your future plan starts to feel unrealistic and you hit the stage of extreme depression. At some point of your life, you will find yourself without a job. Be it right after college or at some point of your professional life when you decide to take a break. Not having a steady job and income can make you feel extremely unworthy, but it is still not the end of the world. Unemployment is not doomsday.

You have to channel all the negativity into something productive.  Unlike most articles, I will not advise you to enjoy being unemployed by going on vacations, building a sexual relationship and engaging in other fun activities. Unemployment is not doomsday.

Unemployment should be the life push you need; it gives you time to discover yourself, to tap into your creativity and develop your potentials. I found it quite tough getting a job the first few months after college, I went to various establishments and submitted my CV, some called me up for interviews, some offered me peanuts as salary, but I didn’t settle for that. I was provoked by the outrageous job offers I received, I was provoked to the extent that I took time to think ‘’what am I good at?’’ ‘’ What do I enjoy doing?’’ that was when I discovered my talent in fashion. I got interested in designing and tailoring dresses and I made dresses, it was interesting and I felt good about it. I am currently in a fashion school and I will start up my own fashion line soon. Now you see, something good came out of those few periods of being unemployed.

Now my point is unemployment is not the end of the world; you should not cloud yourself with negativity; use your situation as an opportunity to tap into your entrepreneur spirit.
