The OS X 10.11 – With Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s World Wide Developers Conference 2015 due next month much talk has been surrounding what the tech giant has in store for its users. Most of the rumors and news have surrounded the announcement of the iPhone 6S, iOS 9, and the imminent arrival of the iPad Pro, the first iPad to support a full-fledged Mac OS. Talking about MacBook operating systems, some sources have indicated that the WWDC 2015 will also feature the latest update, OS X 10.11.
As of yet the tech giant hasn’t revealed much about the upcoming update, or when it will truly be unveiled to the public. That however hasn’t stopped people from speculating.

Apple has named its previous OS versions after powerful cats such as the Lion, Mountain Lion, Snow Leopard, and Leopard. However, some sources have revealed that it will detract from that trend, and move towards a recently started one where their recent operating systems have been named after popular landmarks in California. This trend initiated from the introduction of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, which was followed by OS X 10.10 Yosemite. To support this trend, Apple has filed for trademarks for OS X Sequoia, OS X Ventura, OS X Sonoma, and OS X Mojave only last year. Its still unknown however as to what the new OS will be named after.
News surrounding new features set to be included in the OS X 10.11, include the possibility that a Control Centre will be incorporated, after Apple had failed to include it in the final version of OS X Yosemite, by the time it was launched. The OS X 10.11
9to5Mac stated, “Control center moves many of the controls from the Mac’s Menu Bar to a pane that slides out from the left side of the Mac’s display, adding on-screen music controls and other iOS-influenced features.”
The new operating system is also set to introduce a “rootless” feature, which will help in tackling the security concerns which have surfaced regarding Apple’s products. More details will be revealed as the OS X 10.11 is launched. The OS X 10.11
Many of Apple’s in-house applications are likely to be revamped, with notable ones like the Calendar, Notes, and Reminders app to process data using the iCloud rather than other services.
MacRumors have also revealed that users will be able to download the updated OS X 10.11 this fall, if it is unveiled at this summer’s WWDC 2015.
