Pain- it is okay to feel me
Do you ever wonder why there is pain? Why we feel it at some points in our lives, and even why we cannot live without it? It is not farfetched because pain is a necessary feeling that demands to be felt not minding how negative the effects could be. It is inescapable. It is like water, it finds a way to push through any seal, there is no way to stop it. Sometimes you have to just let yourself sink inside it before you can learn how to manage it.
Emotional pain is an unpleasant feeling of a psychological, non-physical, origin. It is a kind of mental suffering; mental torture. It could also be referred to as mental pain, soul pain, psychic pain or suffering. Emotional Pain could be caused by lots of things. Psychologically, you feel pain because of the loss of something or someone that means a lot to you, betrayal by a trusted friend, heartbreaks, poverty, disappointments, failures, depression, rejection, and breakups. Personally I think betrayal gives me more pain.
I have lived to know that pain does not mean despondence it also does not mean that someone is a failure. It is a phase you have to go through as human. It is very okay to feel it but then how you manage it determines whether it would make you or mar you, Let me say it prepares you for the greater joy that is to come.
The feeling of pain though devastating has brought about lots of success and has also improved personalities. To everything, there is a positive and negative side. My friend Mark would always tell me that the best people all have some scars because pain would make you more human. Naturally, pain has this drive that inspires you to move on, it gives you greater hope. More reason why ‘NO PAIN NO GAIN’ is one of my favorite sayings; you have to experience pain to be better. It brings about positive change. It gives you more wisdom because it would make you look back at your past and change things for the best. Abraham Lincoln did not let the pain of failure to pull him down, guess what? He was inspired the more to vie for the post of presidency. Our very own Nelson Madiba Mandela did not let the pain of oppression make him lose focus; instead he ignited the drive and took South Africa to the next level.
Most times we don’t always know what is most important cause things are always going as planned; we tend to lose focus and track. It brings us back and reminds us of what is more important. I always thought that the best moments can come from the worst times. It is better to experience moment of discomfort in the achievement of your dreams than to be comfortable without accomplishing your dreams. Don’t be abashed by pain, instead be inspired.
