BlackBerry ‘Venice’ slider

The rumours circulating about the new Blackberry ‘Venice’ slider device are ever raging. There have been many leaks of it’s look and feel and they are never ending.

While the rumors surrounding the BlackBerry ‘Venice’ slider continue to swirl, the device has now appeared once again in some new, clearer images which are pretty on par with everything we’ve seen thus far. As you can tell from looking at the keyboard, it falls directly in line with an earlier leak from @evleaks and even has those three dots that got everyone’s feathers so ruffled.

Something new this time around is the placement of the SIM card and microSD slot that are placed at the very top of the device, forgoing all previous designs that have the power button at the top. Unlike other images of the device that have appeared, this one clearly shows the display powered on and running what is presumably Android Lollipop.

If you’ve been following the Venice rumors for a while now, that details shouldn’t really be all that surprising as we’ve been hearing all along that the Android experience BlackBerry is putting together will reportedly bring the good bits of BlackBerry 10 and make them applicable to Android through a custom skin and apps but it’s nice to see some of it all laid out, even if it’s still in rough draft form for now.

Out of all the BlackBerry ‘Venice’ slider leaks thus far, none have really given us a full look at the keyboard on the upcoming device and that, of course, has left some folks skeptical of everything we’ve seen recently. Looking to end some of those doubts, @evleaks, has now posted up a follow-up to the first leaked render of the device that clearly shows off that glorious BlackBerry keyboard.

There’s not really much to be said about the keyboard itself, expect perhaps, it really reminds me of the keyboard found on the BlackBerry Torch series way back in the day minus the signature keyboard ‘smile’ and frets found on some BlackBerry smartphones. As it’s only a render, seeing the real deal would be sweet right about now.
