I have had Crazy Moments
Crazy Moments are moments in one’s life that just happened without plans and the said person will never ever, I repeat never ever forget them. I just feel like sharing another crazy moment of my life with you folks. Hope you don’t criticize me *smiles and winks with my hands clasped and my knees on the ground*
Today has been a crazy day. Things didn’t go as I expected. Although she was so annoying as usual but come on why would he join in too. What do I do wrong? Well, I think I’ll just sit down; fold my arms and watch next time, yes! That’s exactly what I’ll do but will that help, I lamented.
Unknowing to me, Tracy, the girl next door had been standing in front of my door listening to my soliloquy. She didn’t utter a word, just stood there and stared down at me as I had left my door open.
As I was about getting up to go take my shower she staggered backwards and hit the care-taker, Mr. David Wellington as he was passing to the other end of the corridor to pump the water for the compound. I resided in a three storey building just some stone throws away from my workplace. I stayed on the second floor.
I’m sorry sir, stuttered Tracy, I did not see you coming.
The care-taker did not even say a word but continued on his journey to the end of the corridor. As Tracy who had been looking at him turned to sneak back to her room, she stopped abruptly for I was standing right behind her. She stepped back and tried turning away to the opposite direction when I called out her name,
Tracy!!!

She turned back and stared straight into my face but didn’t utter a word. I drew closer and extended my left hand to her. She took it and I drew her into my room.
What were you doing just outside my door few moments ago?, I asked.
Tracy pulled away from my grip and paced about the room, looking at my pictures and awards.
You won all this?, she asked.
Crazy Moments that got me thinking
I ignored the question but awaited the response to mine. She paused in front of a picture hanging just above the aquarium in the room, stared at it for some time and turned to look back at me then she said,
Khocee, we’ve been in this building for 1 full year and we’ve never said anything to each other.
I cut in with a silly smile on my face and a shrug of my shoulder,
You’ve been here 1 year, I, a year and three months, just saying.
Crazy Moments that got me thinking
Tracy just looked at me and continued,
Yeah! You are right. You were here before me but I mean together it’s been one year and…
I interrupted again,
you keep mixing things up dear, and it’s not together. We have not been together, we’ve been neighbors.
Getting pissed, she snapped at me,
Yeah! Whatever! Neighbors, not together, thanks for the correction. I am…don’t interrupt me again…I’m just trying to make a point here. We’ve never as much as said anything to each other than good morning, evening or noon. We are next door neighbors. You only talk to the dudes on this floor and the only time you say anything other than two sentences to the ladies are during meetings or during the parties. It isn’t fair at all. Some girls have already concluded that you are gay, said Tracy as she sat down on my reading chair.
I moved to the window, smiled and turned back to take a sit on my bed. I brought out a magazine and began to flip through the pages. As I flipped from page to page, my eyes were locked on Tracy. I had never noticed how beautiful she was, her hair always braided, thick black, her eyes golden-brown with eyelashes long and curvy, her complexion; ebony black with the right curves in the right places.

She was tall, slim and had a very slender neck which she always adorned with a pretty silver necklace and a silver unicorn as pendant. That day, she was putting on a turtle neck pink sweater and a short white skirt which made her lovely, shinning legs visible to all.
I was still in the blue shirt and brown chinos trouser I went to work with. I dropped the magazine and asked,
What do I offer you, Tracy?
She looked at me with shock and said,
Wow! That would be a first! Well, I’ll be having a chilled peach juice if you don’t mind.

I got up from the bed, removed my shirt exposing my white singlet which was tight enough for Tracy to notice the curves of my broad shoulders, packs and oblique (didn’t have muscular chest though, still working on that one). I took the shirt to my wardrobe, hung it and took off the singlet which I did the same to. The muscles on my bare back flexed uncontrollably as I searched through my wardrobe. Crazy Moments that got me thinking… I believe she was watching me and hoped to feel it but her reminisce was cut short as I threw on a purple polo and moved into the kitchen. I returned with a tray containing the juice and a tumbler, dropped it on a side stool and pushed it to Tracy. She smiled, took up the juice, shook the packet and after opening it asked me if I wasn’t going to share with her? I just stood up and went back into the kitchen, returning with a plastic cup.
I gave it to her and she poured the juice into my cup before serving herself. We drank in silence for a-while. She just sipped silently looking at me as I stared out the window.

Why are you staring at me?, I asked without turning back.
She stopped staring, moved to where I sat and sat on my laps,
you are a strange fellow, Khocee. You are so weird and unable to decipher. I have always wanted to share a moment with you but you are always distant. I like you a lot, you are really spirited. Sorry I forgot, congrats on the new job. Crazy Moments that got me thinking
At this I smiled and looked at the damsel on my laps. I didn’t know what to say because she was so pretty; her lips kept calling to me, I looked away and said thanks. This disappointed Tracy so she stood up, dropped the tumbler and said goodnight to me, but as she got to the door I held her shoulder. She turned and I, still smiling gave her a big hug saying,
thanks for making my day, I needed a friend today and God sent you. I’m so grateful for your company. Also, thank you for congratulating me on my employment.
I kissed her on her fore-head. Crazy Moments that got me thinking
Surprised, Tracy just walked out without saying a word. She stood out there for a few seconds before turning to catch my gaze on her, then with a smile lighting up her face she said goodnight for the second time.
This time I responded, “Sweet dreams dear” and shut the door.
I slowly sat on the floor with my back against the door and in a sweet reminisce of Tracy I slept…
Thank you for your patience. Damn! This is crazy, well you reading this post to the end has officially been added to my crazy moments. Lol…
