Williams Michael Mayomi A.K.A Slimusic is from Ogun state, Nigeria. He is an artists and songwriter. He was born on October 8, 1984 and raised in Bariga, Lagos. He is the third out of five kids and was raised by his mom. His late Dad; Adeshina Williams was a songwriter and juju artists based abroad and a good friend of King Sunny Ade.
His growing up was a blend of both worlds, there were good times and bad times. Williams attended three secoundary schools; Government College Ketu Epe, Lagos, and changed to Igbogi College Yaba, Lagos after his younger brother’s death and Ikenne Community High School Ogun state. He studied Law in Olabisi Onabanjo, also attended Augustine Nnamani Campus Enugu for Law school.
Slimusic interest in music ignited in his high school days, he enjoyed writing a lot, wrote inspirational books and also song lyrics and he drew inspiration from his moods like happiness, love, heartbreak, anger… His friends encouraged him to improve his talent, but his ex girlfriend took special interest, she filled his data for his first talent show; Star Quest 2007 without his knowledge. Since then, he has attended several talent shows, though didn’t gain recognition, his determination to excel in what he enjoys doing and prodding from friends caused him to release his first singles My Halo and Wings which got more foreign plaudit than local. The name Slimusic was coined by his friend due to his slim stature.
Recently, Slimusic is working on a mix tape album Sui Generis meaning something different, its a fusion of pop, Hip Hop, soul and RnB and contains lots of tracks. when asked what inspires him, he said:
Failure inspires me to do better, just like Aaliyah said ”Dust yourself and try again” and an anonymous saying that I love so much “A winner is an ex loser who got the brain to try gain.
Slimusic is not just a smartass lawyer, but also a passionate musician with a voice that will rock a ladies world. He is mostly into soul but also fuses rap in it, and this can be the evolution of music.
