Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan also known as Morgan Marshel is a Reggae, Hip Hop, dancehall artiste, a songwriter, composer and also plays the talking drum. She is from Benin city, Nigeria and was born on the 23rd of September 1991. And also attended both her primary and secondary education in Benin.
The love for music started at a young age, from the children’s choir to the agape choir, youth choir and the Christian union choir. She released her first single at the age of 16, which got her air play and interviews on local radio stations in Benin and also released a debut single with General Pype titled ” Dotty Stepping” at the age of 17.
In 2008, she moved to Lagos, Nigeria to further her career and got featured on the NEA Award winning track with Jhybo in 2009/2010. Cynthia rebranded her image and music in 2012 and released singles in July titled “High High High” and “Ojoro “which trended worldwide for 10 hours and 48 hours in Nigeria, this was when killer Marshel which is her alter ego came about.
Killer Marshel is the crazy, sassy, edgy and raw side of Cynthia Morgan. She is very passionate, determined and likes to be viewed differently and not compared to artiste in Nigeria or Africa.
Cynthia got signed under North side Entertainment label in August 2013. And she got famous from her hit single “Don’t break my Heart” and has released allot of tracks since then.
Cynthia has performed alongside – Mo’cheddah, Nikky Laoye, BB, Ahionye, Sound Sultan, General Pype, Goldie, Lami and a lot more.
Her inspiration comes from reading good books, watching movies and music and her role models are Bob Marley, Sean paul, Cardinal Official, Lil Kim, Lady Saw, Sizzla Kalonji, Beenieman, Mavado and 2face.
