Jeffery Page is a 32 years old director, producer, actor, dancer, and Emmy nominated choreographer. He attended The Broad Ripple High School performing Arts program in his hometown Indianapolis and graduated with honors from the prestigious University of the Arts Philadelphia with a bachelors degree in Performance and Theater Arts. He taught in Ailey school and Cirque du Soleil after his graduation.
He is energetic and an expert in fusing traditional African Dance, hip hop, funk, jazz and soul. Jeffery Page has worked with many influential people like Beyoncé (World Tour & TV) and it is said that he gave Queen B her African flair, he also worked with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith (opening for BET Awards), R. Kelly (finale for Billboard Awards), Jazmine Sullivan (Year of the Gentleman World Tour) and a lot more.
Jeffrey Page performed with Fela Kuti on Broadway as a member of the FELA ensemble, because West African dance has been his specialty since childhood. Page said,
“I think Fela has been a hit because it’s playing with a wide variety of textures that Broadway hasn’t seen.”
He was a resident choreographer on Fox Television reality dance show So You Think You Can Dance in July 2009, His West African inspired work Balanta , performed by the season’s top five men was acclaimed by various online entertainment sites as ‘intricate’, ‘energetic’ and ‘incredibly entertaining’ leading to acknowledged dance authority Debbie Allen praising his work as ‘…so pure and so authentic’. He was also one of the judges and choreographer for Maltina Dance All Season 8; a Nigerian TV reality dance show.
I am captivated by the groove of a simple handclap or foot-stomp in a schoolyard. We are all drawn to beauty and revere the magnificent textures that it fosters. This supreme beauty transcends time, space, cultures, and class; it forces us to pause and evolve into something better. Through the manifestation of dance, I feel like I can change the world.
He received an Emmy Award nomination in “Outstanding Choreography” for the 2005 NAACP Image Awards. In 2011, he received the MTV’s 2011 Video Music Award for “Best Choreography” for the video of the Beyoncé Knowles’ “Run The World (Girls)”, And so many awards.
Jeffery’s talent has taken him everywhere, from Hollywood awards down to west African countries were he horned his skills. He has also featured and produced Hollywood movies like Soft Money, Black Ninja and lots more.
