THE POWER RANGERS ALIVE IN FGL

Power Rangers are my childhood heroes and I’d love to talk about them today but before I begin I’d like to ask a few questions, who are we without the people around us? I mean you could have a lot of money but without people how are you going to spend it?

Suli Breaks once said “if you were given £10,850 every day for a year to spend on yourself alone and you can’t carry any change to the next day, you can’t take your friends out; you can’t involve yourself in any profitable investments. That’s a lot of money, I know and you’ll probably get tired of buying stuff which proves my point, the people around us really do matter”…

Look at my team for example when I think of the FGL team, that’s the Friendite Global Limited team they kind of remind me of the POWER RANGERS. If you don’t remember the Power Rangers you should probably stop reading this now and go hang yourself because your childhood was rubbish, no offense but it is true. So yes the Power Rangers, in this wonderful team I’m kind of like the White Ranger, you know the cute one {it’s true} he’s like this dude who’s never around but always has a way of saving the day, vain I know but it’s true.

Then we have Khocee Uzochukwu who in this case is the Black Ranger not just because he is like the Mr fix it of the FGL team, he’s also the Duke Cray Cray (I’ll elaborate later). Then there is Her Royal Hotness’ Adigo Melody Ifeanyi {let us observe a moment of silence to respect her hotness}, might be the girl of my dreams but that’s a different story she would fit perfectly in the role of the Yellow Ranger, hot but very focused.

Dream Team

Hmm I feel like I’m forgetting someone {joking}, Emmanuel I. Peters a.k.a. AURACLE {All U Rappers Ain’t Cool Like Emmanuel} and yes that’s a person, he’ll fit right into the Green Ranger role I mean he’s very resourceful and very talented never seen the dude angry, he’s always thinking straight, okay I’m being sarcastic about the thinking straight part.

And then there is Henry Chisom Ezikeoha a.k.a Mr Chestnut {the king of hustlers}{hustler of all tribes}, I mean if you need anything Henry is your guy he should be the Blue Ranger. I know right about now you’ll be wondering who the Red Ranger is, the symbol of unity, the leader, the one that does most of the hard work {again if you didn’t see power rangers growing up, you’re a big waste.}

Yes I was talking about the Red Ranger the main man of the A-team; he goes by the name Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Okeke a.k.a stunner, i always tell my friends “my boss is cooler than yours”. its true, so much wisdom and knowledge coupled with such a kind heart… i guess he really deserves to be the Red Ranger

For today I do not live.. The stories of great things I’ve heard , can’t let me sleep…. If it’s true I believe it and if it’s not I careless …. Tired of this generation that always considered with the girls that can undress.

Common sense seems so far fetched … We study every day, read big books and still nothing yet… Education is a kid with an ant farm it’s not planning anything yet ,.. Life is what you make it .. Most people fake it till dey make it …

But I till strive to be the best they’ve ever seen …. I mean my dreams are like nightmares you need to hear me scream….

They say dream like you’ve never seen obstacles.. And the future so bright I had to wear spectacles … You could smile with me if you understand my views…. Points in my head are more than a few, Random notes to my generation

Is the Street really Strict?

Street is a paved part of road with sidewalks and buildings, usually in a village or a town. Hmm… how is this description relating to the topic? Just wanted to enlighten you on what the word ‘street’ means so now that we’ve gotten that part off our chest let’s get down to our main order of business; ‘STREET IS STRICT’.

How can a paved part of road be strict? It isn’t living so it can only be hard. Lol…

The Street I am talking about is the people who live in the neighborhood or those who spend a great deal of time on the street in urban areas, especially the young, the poor, the unemployed and those engaged in illegal activities.

When a young dude lives under the condition I just explained above then he can proudly beat his chest and say he is a Street boy or he is from the Street. The Street can also be called the ‘HOOD’.

I believe that youngsters tend to understand life better when they get involved with happenings of the street, was having a conversation with a friend, Derek Khartune and he said,

the street has taught me more than I have learned in a classroom. I have learned that in it it isn’t about money, it’s just about loyalty. The street can be good and also be bad so whichever way we see the it depends on the door we walk into it from. The Street is strict but the street is still fun; most of us grew up in the streets and no matter the situation we find ourselves in our homes or the society we end up adapting. Everybody in the street has a boss, no matter how small or big and the street is a community.

Wow! The street is actually a cartel or a system of government because it is connected. One street is connected to the next and no matter how far you go as long as you were loyal in your street you’ll always find favor with any street you stumble into.

Now why did I say the Street is strict?

A blogger I know, Ekwuno Obinna told me something that really got me thinking, he said,

the street is hard and only the tough survives.

From my definition of the ‘STREET’ being a group of people in a neighborhood that spends a great deal of time in the hood, especially the young, poor, unemployed and those engaged in illegal activities, we can see that being a Hood dude or babe isn’t easy. The street is strict and to be able to dwell there you should be loyal, smart and ambitious.

Some great celebrities started out in the streets and after the whole troubles and suffering they are now great individuals. Example of such celebrities is JayZ, Eminem, 2face, Olamide, P. Diddy, TI, Lil Kesh, Ruff Coin, Oritse Femi, Timaya, P-square, 9ice, August Alsina, etc. It was so bad that August Alsina had to give his testimony in his song he tagged ‘BENEDICTION’ in his TESTIMONY album where he sang,

started off in the streets/we would take collection from the fiends/people dying all around me/so I gave you my testimony/we were down from the beginning/when the world wasn’t listening/now that I got your attention/let us in with the benediction” then he later sang in the bridge, “but I made it, and it made me/I know I did wrong, I pray to God he forgave me/cause I made it, it didn’t kill me/so it made me stronger, I pray to God that you feel me

Everyone believes he or she is a gangster until it gets into the gangster sh*t. Family isn’t about blood but about the people willing to bleed for you, you can only find those people on the street. The Street is Educative, don’t you think so?

Marriage and Love?

Marriage hmm… A friend of mine, Chukwubuikem Anueyiagu wanted to share his idea on marriage and sent it to me to help post it for the world to see. I have my own understanding about marriage but let’s see Chukwubuikem’s view;

We Africans make Marriage a priority, if you’re rich, successful and not married, you are either a ritualist or a pervert, I mean I don’t blame them for thinking so, we are all human beings with sexual needs. The decision of getting that from one person for the rest of your life is actually left for one to make… I mean everyone has their own life to live and all that. But it was never written in the Bible that “Not Marrying” is a sin… Wasn’t it someone that said that,

Variety is the spice of life

I for one support it *winks*

Looking at our Generation and seeing how marriages fail nowadays… I just feel repulsed by the thought “Marriage“… I think I rather prefer just dating , why marriage? Why fix something that’s not broken? The problem with some couples nowadays is that when he decides to put a ring to it, things change, with the baby and the in-laws, the expectations from peers and all that. They try to be a perfect couple forgetting that no one is. Don’t get me wrong some have managed to make it work and that takes a lot of work and dedication, but before you start celebrating notice that most of them are not from our generation, mostly from our parents’.

Maybe it’s because there was no Instagram,Twitter or Telemundo then… Gave them time to be more realistic and pragmatic and to face and solve problems based on belief, upbringing or family background, common sense and not what Brad Pitt did in this movie or what Reese Witherspoon said in this sequel or a cute Meme a friend posted on some social network, forgive me if I say this but ladies these days are so dumb…

Marriage Grows, you don’t expect the spark to be there all the time (that is, the romance you guys had when you guys were still dating) and that’s the problem with couples these days. When they stop feeling it they get done with it… I’ve always told people “I like my Girlfriend” and “I’ll love my wife” Do you know what is LOVE? What our generation call LOVE nowadays is just mere INFATUATION. Love is not when you make cute outfits with each others’ nick names written on them OR make cute memes with each others’ name on it… LOVE is when he might not have anything but every second with him feels like a tour with DONALD TRUMP…

When you’re in love you won’t know… Let’s digress a little, I have this girlfriend and the week after she agreed to go out with me (after all the forming) whenever I call her, at the end of every call there was this long awkward silence (bonus airtime). Since she was my first official girlfriend, I felt obligated to say the “I love you” word, I also thought she felt obligated too, ergo the “long awkward silence”… because I’ve heard my friends say it on phone (just like what I said earlier about peers), me now, shy boy like me.

Okay one day after our call I got the courage to say it, I kinda brushed the word LOVE cause I knew within myself I didn’t mean half of it, the other half self I was shaky, in my mind I was like if this girl doesn’t say it back, I don eff up (too much foreign movies just like I said earlier). Luckily for me she said it, just like I did when I said mine, you know brushing off the LOVE word, I know maybe normally I’ll feel kinda bad or sad but I was angry, not at her, Hell no!! but at myself.

Why? well because I put her in a really tough position when I said it first so she felt obligated to say it too, but after some deep thoughts I got over it , in fact I liked her even more because she liked me too much to hurt my feelings and that meant a lot to me… We are still dating presently self and we promised not to say it i.e the “LOVE” word till we mean it to make sure the feeling is real and not just saying it because you don’t want to hurt my feelings.

I just hope you’ve learned something from my story, no one should make you feel obligated to say something you don’t feel. Love is too deep to be played with that is why many marriages fail these days.

Marriage is not Dating; this is someone you’re spending your entire life with, giving up pleasures for, so it’s not something to be played with, be sure you really love this person and not just mere infatuation.

How? well you can try living together before marriage, check if you guys are really compatible and of course SEX is off the table, because when you are apart there’s no friction or arguments and if you jump into marriage like that you are definitely going to hate that decision. Check if you can tolerate yourselves because if you can’t, then marriage is not really the best step to take… You can call it a TEST-DRIVE. My dad once told me,

there is a point in life when ROMANCE or LOVE dies and the thing you guys will be left with is the company of each other and that can be pulled off when there is communication and understanding. LOVE is the root of all marriages as MONEY is the root of all evil…

I’m not in any way suggesting that marriage is something bad, I’m just saying be sure before you jump into it. Don’t do it because Stunner is doing it or Melody is doing it… It’s your life, if you screw it up, the least Melody can do is pat you on your back and bring a box of tissue, if she is the emotional type she might cry with you.

The more you guys have in common the more the romance ,the more predictable your partner is and the more tired you get around each other BUT the less you guys have in common the more fun the marriage will be, the more unpredictable your partner is and the more you like each others’ company… Trust me! *smiles and winks*

Great ideology about marriage. I believe Chukwubuikem knows his sh*t and hope you guys understood him but one thing is clear if you want to really obey God’s rule that states,

go ye into the world and multiply

Then you have to get married so as not to commit fornication. Oh! am I preaching? hmm… cool! Anyway, if you are going to get married make sure it is the right person so you wouldn’t live your life in regret. Love y’all!!!

 The Flaws of Perfection

Everybody wants to be perfect, but what does it mean to be perfect? Who measures our perfection and what criteria are required for one to be perfect? Is it good to be perfect? Why should one be perfect?

All these questions bug me and I know subconsciously they bug you too. Now the world is driven by competition; countries are trying to acquire nuclear heads, mobile networks are trying to achieve the highest number of customers, social networks are trying to get the highest number of users, and even the devil is trying to get more followers than God who created the earth. I wouldn’t say it’s not advisable to strive for perfection, but perfection itself is a snare in that anyone who attains it’s stead gets a distorted psyche of how things are supposed to be. He/she feels above all, a god in human flesh. Seeking for an equal to compete with, they find none and since life is hinged on the fringes of competition, they go berserk.

Looking through the ages at successful people, they all have their flaws; Thomas Edison was called “addled” by his school teacher, Richard Branson has dyslexia and Abraham Lincoln suffered from clinical depression. These shortcomings played a part in pushing them to work hard for greatness, without them they probably would have been satisfied with who they were at the growing stages of their lives. They would have settled for meagre achievements and would never have been the people we know them to be today.

Talking about the flaws of perfection, perfection itself is an already finished state; it needs no improvements, no bettering, nothing. Nothing can be added to it, only subtracted. Also, since the strive for perfection is inevitable, anyone perfect becomes a target for others because they try to attain his/her state of perfection and if they find they can’t, they try to cut the person down to a size in which they can measure up to him/her. Why would anyone want to be in those shoes? Everybody aiming for your spot, trying to shoot you down and get you to stay down forever, why would you want to be there?

The savour of the strive for perfection is this; no one can be perfect. As humans, we resolve to overlook that fact and strive still; this is what drives us, not perfection itself but the pursuit of it.

Amazon Echo

Amazon Echo, also known as Alexa, is a voice command device from Amazon.com with functions including question answering, playing music and controlling smart devices. The device consists of a 9.25-inch (23.5 cm) tall cylinder speaker with a seven-piece microphone array, speakers that include a woofer/tweeter and a remote control. The device responds to the name “Alexa”, however this “wake word” can be changed by the user (to one other choice at present: “Amazon”). I am a Comedian, born on the 16th of October, 1995 and hail from Umueje in Anyamelum Local Government Area of Anambra state. First born son of six children. My dad is late… ehm… what else should I say?

Well *clears throat* it is hard to say. Let me start from describing my background; I was born at St. Benedicts Hospital, Osogbo in Osun state, Nigeria for those that think I’m white. My dad, Late Mr. Anene Osoko worked at Nigerian Machine Tools, well paid, and my mum was a very big business woman who was into wholesale. We were virtually rich. At the age of 8 I moved to Warri and stayed for four years with my aunt and on my return I preferred the life of the Street. When I say ‘life of the Street’ I don’t mean thuggery, I just respected the system, understood and just knew what’s up. In 2008 we moved down to Anambra state, Awka to be precise, where I fully entered the street because of the kind of person I am. I respect loyalty, and that’s the principle of the street. I graduated from Krosa Secondary School in 2012 and gained admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University where I earned a Diploma in Law while studying Mass Communication (presently in my 300level).

It has always been there. My mum was actually the one who begun calling me Cartoon which I later customized to Khartune. She always said everything about me; my acting, mode of talking, was all cartoonish in nature… lol! Back in high school friends called me to anchor their birthday parties which I did for fun. First of all, no be small thing, my head wan bust like this now. It is like something you don’t that will happen just happens. It’s a divine turn around and I give God the glory. Okay, how it happened; I have a friend and church member who is already in the company, he is a blogger and presently the Personal Assistant to the CEO. His name is Khocee Uzochukwu. I anchored our Guy’s Super Sunday in church and after the programme I met him and asked him if there was vacancy at his workplace, owing to the fact that he anchored the Fashion Police segment at the event and flaunted his company. He said yes and asked me to come by 11am the next day. My brother that was it, I went, applied to be a marketer, did my interview and got the job. My first week in the office everyone kept saying how funny I was and the boss, Emmanuel Emeka Okeke decided to make me the brand comedian. Before I knew what was happening I was given a contract to sign and I can tell you this, I didn’t think twice. Twitter has shut down a network of sites dedicated to archiving deleted tweets from politicians around the world. The sites — collectively known as Politwoops — were overseen by the Open State Foundation (OSF), which reported that Twitter suspended their API access on Friday, August 21st. Twitter reportedly told the OSF that its decision was the result of “thoughtful internal weighing and close consideration of a number of factors,” and that the social media site didn’t distinguish between politicians and regular users.

“Imagine how nerve-racking — terrifying, even — tweeting would be if it was immutable and irrevocable?” Twitter reportedly told the OSF. “No one user is more deserving of that ability than another. Indeed, deleting a tweet is an expression of the user’s voice.”

Politwoops began in the Netherlands in 2010 at a hackathon. Jules Mattsson, who runs the account, told The Guardian:“It’s a terrible shame that Twitter has made this decision. Politwoops has been an important new tool in political accountability in the UK and abroad. Politicians are all too happy to use social media to campaign, but if we lose the ability for this to be properly preserved, it becomes a one-way tool.”

What is light? What is darkness? What is good? What is evil?

Have you ever rummaged for these answers? I have. What really defines right from wrong? We live in a world which is tilting and changing rapidly. Many things which were a taboo in the time of our fathers pass on as ordinary today. A little child takes a piece of meat from the kitchen pot and he learns that it is wrong by the stinging pain of his mother’s cane, but how did his mother come to know that it is wrong to take a piece of meat from the pot unsupervised? Is it a universal rule or does she just believe it is wrong because her mother told her so? The latter should be the case because even if it is a universal rule, I don’t think anybody knows where it is written, some cultures would abolish it while some would embrace it with arms wide open. Like Ernest Hemingway said in his book Death in the Afternoon, “So far, about morals, I know only that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after.”

This goes to show that we are all an embodiment of what we were taught and our experiences as children; now I’m a super fan of children, I just love how they are so trusting and plump and puerile, and it makes me quiver with excitement. Maybe that is why I get so concerned when I see grown-ups spoil them and teach them wrong, delusional that somehow, somewhere in the future they would get to learn the right from someone at someplace, how fraudulent.

Right and wrong are two conflicting concepts, the criteria to determine one from the other is always varying.  No person can have supreme adjudication as to what is right and what is wrong, Megan Chance does a fine job of explaining that in her book The Spiritualist: “Imagine you come upon a house painted brown. What color would you say the house was?”
“Why brown, of course.”
“But what if I came upon it from the other side, and found it to be white?”
“That would be absurd. Who would paint a house two colors?”

Unlike other AI-based services in the market, M can actually complete tasks on your behalf. It can purchase items, get gifts delivered to your loved ones, book restaurants, travel arrangements, appointments and way more.

This is early in the journey to build M into an at-scale service. But it’s an exciting step towards enabling people on Messenger to get things done across a variety of things, so they can get more time to focus on what’s important in their lives.

Since Marcus joined Facebook, the Messenger product has been on lightspeed mode when it comes to development. Whether it be payments or a standalone site, the product seems like it’s getting way more attention than it ever has.

Apple has Siri, Google has Google Now, Microsoft has Cortana and Facebook has M. These companies are using the data that you’ve put into the service to help you out or suggest things based on what it knows about you. Putting the assistant inside of Messenger is smart, because people are used to tapping out messages to people, rather than speak commands like its competitors sometimes require.

Siri kinda sucks; So often, she has no clue what you’re saying. And when she does, there’s a pretty good chance she’ll reply with nothing but a page filled with Internet links.

Part of the problem is that Apple’s talking digital assistant is built on old technology. But even if the company upgrades Siri to the latest in artificial intelligence, she’ll fall well short of an assistant made of flesh, blood, and neurons. As far as artificial intelligence has come in the last few years, it’s still a long way from intelligence.

With M, its new virtual assistant, Facebook admits as much.

Built atop Facebook Messenger—the company’s instant messaging app—M made its debut yesterday morning, arriving on the phones of a few hundred unsuspecting souls in the San Francisco Bay Area. Yes, it’s the company’s answer to Siri and similar services like Google Now and Microsoft Cortana. But it tackles a broader range of tasks, at least as Facebook describes it. You can ask M questions along the lines of Can you make me dinner reservations? or even Can you help me plan my next vacation?—and it will comply.

The acquisition of Wit.ai back in January feeds the human side of the project, the “trained and supervised by people” part mentioned by Marcus.

While Google and Apple were caught up in the pure science of artificial intelligence, Facebook decided to brute force the development of a personal assistant with a bunch of human helpers.

Facebook designed the tool so that AI technology responds to these questions in tandem with humans. “The AI tries to do everything,” says Alex Lebrun, the founder of Wit.ai, a startup Facebook acquired to help build this smartphone tool. “But the AI is supervised by the people.”

In the larger world of AI-driven personal assistants, M may seem like a regression. And as Facebook tests the tool with the public, it’s unclear whether this human-machine partnership can keep pace as the project expands to an ever-larger audience. But in a counterintuitive way, M may actually be a step forward for AI.

The idea is that humans will not only answer queries the AI is incapable of answering but, in the long run, help to improve this AI. Today’s artificial intelligence, you see, requires at least some human training. If you want a system to automatically identify cats in YouTube videos, humans must first show it what a cat looks like. They must tag all sorts of feline photos. They must provide data. Through the human staff backing M, Facebook is doing this type of thing in unusually complex ways. “This is why we have this big team of people,” Lebrun says. “The data we need is nonexistent.”

In answering your questions, these humans will provide the data needed to bootstrap a much more sophisticated digital assistant based on a separate form of artificial intelligence called “deep learning.” This could take many years. But such is the way with AI. “Human-level AI is a good philosophical discussion to have,” says Dennis Mortensen, the CEO and founder of x.ai, a startup offering an online personal assistant that automatically schedules meetings, “but it’s not going to happen anytime soon.”

That all changes today: Instagram is updating its Android and iOS apps to enable native support for full-size landscape and portrait photos and video inside the app. They’ll run alongside the traditional square photos, which will remain the default for photos shared on Instagram.

When you access your photo gallery from within the updated app, you’ll now see a format button above the camera roll. You can use this button to toggle between square and full-size images. From there, you can zoom in and out to choose the best crop for your photos.

INSTAGRAM USED SQUARE PHOTOS TO DISTINGUISH ITSELF 

Initially, Instagram adopted square photos as a way of distinguishing itself from other photo-sharing apps. But they were also a practical choice. They helped provide a more consistent look as you scrolled down the feed, and they also looked better on smaller phone screens.

But as screen sizes have increased, and the platform has evolved to host more serious photography, the restrictive format has left many of the app’s 300 million monthly users frustrated. According to Instagram’s own research, 20 percent of uploaded photos have been modified to fit into the square frame, often using a third-party app that adds a “letterbox” effect to enable the sharing of landscape pictures. “For the average person, one in every five stories in their feed looks like it’s natively supported in our app,” says Ashley Yuki, an Instagram product manager. “Which is not great.”

Even as third-party apps like Square Sized and Squaready have gained popularity, they leave dead space on the edges of photos, making them smaller and harder to see. It can also be annoying and time-consuming to have to use a separate app to prep your photos beforehand.

Members of Instagram’s large fashion community will likely be among those celebrating the freedom this update brings, as will anyone who has experienced the trauma of having to choose whether to crop out either their new haircut or their new shoes. But square photos, as the signature of Instagram, will remain the default mode.

The update also unifies Instagram’s photo and video filters, so now any filter can be applied to your post regardless of its format. It will be available to both iOS and Android users today.
