EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH JOY, OLLIE CREATION
Ollie Creation CEO, Joy is the in building and we have an opportunity to ask her a few questions about herslef and her new brand.
Hi dear
Hi Khocee
We are glad to have you with us, please introduce yourself to our readers
My name is Joy Oluchi Eneghalu from Nnewi North in Anambra state. I was born in Lagos state on the 20th of October, 1991.
Nice, so can you give us a download of your educational journey?
I attended Our Lady Of Apostles Private School, Yaba. Lagos. I also attended Mater Christi Catholic Girls’ High School, Igede-Ekiti. Ekiti State and went to college at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where I graduated with B Sc. in Mass Communication.
That’s quite cool dear; anyway I’m sure we all want to know if you have special something, something in your life. You know, like a special someone?
Lol… I am pretty much single.
Eligible bachelors did you read that, make your moves now before it is too late. Well, the last time we were with you, Purple Creation was your company but we’ve been hearing that you now own something else please enlighten us.
Yeah! Purple Creation was the name of my company. We would not say we changed it. We’ll rather say we moved on to a better position. Purple Creation was a great deal because it gave me the opportunity to groom myself in event management and even personal relationships. I met a lot of passionate young models who craved for a wonderful platform. I saw them as my responsibility. But then a challenge came up in 2013 (really long story).
It crippled everything we had worked for. Sponsorships weren’t coming and the ones that came were very lame with terrible conditions. We lost everything including teammates. It was that bad. It was devastating though. I believe every company passed through their hard times and that was ours. But then, giving up was not an option.
That was how a more personalized brand came up. A brand we can connect with and I’ll say it has been amazing. It is tagged ‘Ollie Creation’.
Interesting! Please tell us more about this Ollie Creation
Ollie Creation is a mother company into Media, Modeling and Fashion. We are also a youth friendly firm. Right now we are onto our subsidiary, iModelAfrica. It is an online photo modeling platform for aspiring and existing models: African male and females alike. We look to trigger the creativity in every model and nurture them into global brands. The future for us is here.
Many models know modeling as just runways and pageants. This is photo-modeling. Every Season we release a theme that the models have to work with. Take a photo depicting that theme, register and upload the entry photograph. Our judges pick the top 15 photographs and they get voted for.
The winner gets a cash prize of N50,000 and a major photography deal with us. We also offer fashion news and information, audio information for models, giveaways on the blog part of the site and even our Instagram page. There is a third platform we are currently working on. It’ll be launched on the site soon and we’ll let you know.
When was Purple changed to Ollie Creation?
I would not like to use the word “changed” as I said earlier. I’ll rather say we branded last year and launched January this year.
Okay, what were your achievements with Purple, because I remember you said Purple gave you the opportunity to groom yourself?
It was a great one with Purple. We had about 4 or 5 awards in a year. We were the most recognized brand in Fashion and modeling. It was awesome. But then it’s all past glory because a brand bigger than Purple is here to stay.
Hmm… since January when you launched what have you achieved with Ollie Creation?
Ollie Creation has been able to get selected people to work with. We have a running site – www.imodelafrica.com, where a lot has been going on. We also produced our first winner, Ekwaseh Yusuf. It was a great moment for us.
We were so excited. By June, Ekwaseh will be having her major photo shoot. We hope to move far off than this.
Good, so is there any coming event that we should be looking out for with Ollie Creation apart from the photo shoot? The second season of iModelAfrica is up and running. The theme is “A NEW HOPE“. We are calling on Models, Agencies, Photographers, and Designers to take advantage of this amazing opportunity. To Participate, check out the picture above.
You have heard it folks, those that fit into the criteria should go get involved right away. Joy, where you see yourself in 5years?
In 5 years, Ollie Creation‘s iModelAfrica will be a major brand to reckon with. By God’s grace, we did it with Purple. We’ll do great with iModelAfrica.
Wow! That is some heart. Thank you very much Joy, CEO of Ollie Creation. We are glad to have you here once again and it was fun while it lasted but everything must come to an end so have a lovely day
