SIR B.E.I NWOFOR MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2015 IS HERE

Sir B.E.I Nwofor Moot Court Competition – It has arrived again oh!It is Sir B.E.I NWOFOR (SAN) in collaboration with NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY presents the 3rd Annual STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT MOOT COURT COMPETITION; a NATIONAL INTER-UNIVERSITY MOOT COURT COMPETITION which involves 15 Schools across the Federation that indicated interest by way of critique – the topic is “the Legality of Euthonasia”, the critiques were examined and screened down to 10. This is the third edition and the 10 Schools that qualified have arrived safely, they are;

• Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU)
• University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)
• Imo State University (IMSU)
• Ebonyi State University (EBSU)
• Lagos State University (LASU)
• University of Benin (UNIBEN)
• University of Ibadan (UI)
• Abia State University (ABSU)
• Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT)
• University of Lagos (UNILAG)

They arrived in Awka, Anambra State the home Venue of the Event on Wednesday, 27th May, 2015 and were checked in at ORIGIN HOTELS, Ifite.

The order of competition;

GROUP A – UNIBEN vs IMSU
GROUP B – EBSU vs ESUT
GROUP C – UNN vs NAU
GROUP D – LASU vs UI
GROUP E – ABSU vs UNILAG

Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT) scored the highest in the Preliminaries. The final is on the 29th of May, 2015. The last edition was won by NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY (NAU) in June, 2014.

The SUG Moot Court Competition is been chaired and funded by Sir B.E.I Nwofor(SAN). He is a big time practicing Attorney from Nawfia in Anambra State. He is the Senior Partner at B.E.I Nwofor Law Firm in Port Harcourt.

He became a SAN in 2004; the SAN-ship is an Olympian height that every lawyer desires to attain. He is a humanitarian, an activist and a Christian.

This is the third time he is sponsoring the S.U.G NATIONAL INTER-UNIVERSITY MOOT COURT COMPETITION, it is an Annual Event. This year’s edition has been a massive success so far. A lot of Media Houses are involved – Silverbird TV, Rhythm fm, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Radio Nigeria, UNIZIK fm, NTA and TalksFriendite. Also, some newspapers like Daily Sun, Vanguard, Punch, This Day and The Nation are covering the event.

The most shocking yet inspiring story in all this is the fact that the idea of this Annual SUG Moot Court Competition was re-branded and re-strategized by a final year law student of the prestigious NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY; he is the Ex-Officio (Attorney-General of the STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT), Obumneke-Okeke Chisolu.
