Yay! Windows 10 for Smartphones

I ain’t kidding. Yeah, its real.

Microsoft just announced this today while confirming that Windows 10 will be available for purchase pretty soon, in months.

However, there is a more intriguing side to the announcement as the company mentioned testing Windows 10 on a mobile device,  Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 4 Android smartphone.

Xiaomi did say it is not a  partnership but merely assistance with the trial.

Now we hear neither Microsoft nor Xiaomi provided specific details of the Windows 10 software being trialled, but hints show that it overrides Android, turning the Xiaomi phone into a Windows 10 device complete with Microsoft services.

This means Android might love it so much, they would dump android for a windows device.

The software does not offer a dual boot option, which Microsoft has pushed in the past in India. Techcrunch describes this as a ROM, based on Windows, that operates much like software from Cyanogen — a company Microsoft was incorrectly linked with an investment in — and other custom ROMs developed by the likes of Tencent and Baidu in China.

So the ROM is thus designed to go beyond Microsoft’s Android apps and offer a native-like Windows experience on Android phones.

Microsoft is already testing it in China, where consumers are more inclined to install ROMs. There’s a greater spirit of customization in China, particularly for Android users since third- party app stores are the norm as Google Play is severely restricted there.

Microsoft also has big plans to make this software available on more devices in some months time. The company says that full availability will be announced soon but it is starting out with Xiaomi because it has a strong community of users who provide feedback on the company’s weekly software updates.

Read the Message From Microsoft Below:

As part of the Windows Insider Program,Microsoft will partner with Xiaomi to offer Windows 10 free downloads to a select group of Xiaomi Mi4 users. Xiaomi Mi4 users will get the ability to flash their phones with the new Windows 10 OS and provide feedback to Xiaomi and Microsoft on their experience. This partnership will allow Xiaomi and Microsoft to get direct user feedback and continue to improve the experience for China. Microsoft is thrilled to see Xiaomi embracing Windows 10 and offering this great value to their customers. We’re excited to see the feedback we receive from this audience.

Xiaomi is a leading phone manufacturer in China undergoing significant global expansion. We are excited to partner with them in China and jointly gather feedback from Chinese users on their experience with Windows 10 to jointly collaborate on product and services development for the platform. Availability will be announced in the months to come.

Yeah! Don’t I just love that last line. Ok! Laters people!

Friendite GlobalFriendite Global Limited is a media company that is made up of several branches; Friendite.com Nigerian online dating site, its sister social network Frienditeplus.com and Talksfriendite blog site that set up interviews with CEOs, entrepreneurs, startups and talents. Friendite global intend to become world’s biggest media company in few years, its varsatile and evolves with time. Founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Okeke Emeka Emmanuel of Friendite Global spoke about Friendite Global Launch in Awka, Anambra state, Nigeria.

Why Awka and not large commercial cities like Lagos?

No I think the right question should be “why not Awka?”. You see everyone forgets the main aim of social networking and inventing of things, Lagos already have a lot of inventions, and problem solved, and people kept establishing over there and kept solving the same problem. ANAMBRA state here, is quite still embracing socialization in terms of Internet technologies, so many problems are yet unsolved here in Anambra state, I intend to solve this problems, I gave birth to this company because I want to solve issues, that’s what I love doing, I love making things very easy for people, so I believe a city like Awka, is the best place to start.

What does friendite global hope to achieve by setting up its head office in Awka?

So many things, I have come to realize that in as much as we have a strong online presence, most people still need us to have a physical presence, just like I said before, Awka is still trying to embrace Internet technology, in as much as 60% of Awka are collage student, what about the 40% who are yet to understand the help online presence can accrue for them. With our physical presence in Awka here, we hope to establish more strongly and mentally to our potential clients. In the sense that most people find it hard over here to surf the net and get their business online, but with the help of our physical presence here in Awka, we can have a more one on one discussion with them and get to understand what they intend to achieve and find out what ways the company sees fit to help them.

How can it achieve these things?

First of all its all God doing, am nothing without my creator, He has always been with me all the way. Secondly we are scouting out best talents for the job and securing a deal with most passionate personals. If I give you the details your note book would be filed to the brim.

I understand that friendite global is a media company, so what will be going on in the offices?

Friendite GlobalYes, its a media company, that’s why you always see me smiling, because I love the media so much. Currently it’s grouped into sections, we have the live interview section, where we run interviews on ceo, talents and more, after which we showcase online. Then we have the electronic section, where the company sells goods and deliver to our clients, although the delivery will only be done for people within Anambra state for now, there are also several sections that are yet to be developed.

How many staff are currently working for you?

I have about 10 passionate staff working with me.

Hmmm…..what are the attributes that you look out for in your staff?

Consistency and passion, and most important it has to be what you enjoy doing and not a job to you.

So, people something really huge is now in town.

The young awesome Gedion Zelalem

gedion zelalemGedion Zelalem is a German-born footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Arsenal, with the shirt number 35 and a height of 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in). His date of birth is 26th of January 1997.

Internationally, Zelalem made appearances for Germany’s under-15 team, under-16 team and under-17 team during 2012 and 2013. Zelalem has not played for the senior team, and thus remains eligible to play for Germany or Ethiopia. He is also a U.S. citizen and in the process of becoming eligible to play for the United States. Arsenal scout Daniel Karbassiyoon discovered Zelalem in the United States playing for Olney Rangers during a Dallas Cup match. After contacting his coaches, Zelalem was flown to London for summer training with the Arsenal youth academy; following the end of this camp, he was offered a permanent place in the Academy. Zelalem started out playing in Arsenal’s under-16s squad, before graduating into the under-21s in April 2013. His debut for the under-21 side came against Liverpool U21 that month, but was unable to prevent Arsenal slipping to a 3–2 defeat at Anfield; however, he drew praise for his performance. He made his second appearance for the side less than a week later in a 3–2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers U21, once again drawing praise for his performance.

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger told SI's Jeff Bradley last summer.
Gedion Zelalem and Jack Wilshere during an Arsenal match

In July 2013, Zelalem was included in Arsenal’s 24-man squad for their Asian tour. Although regarded as a surprise inclusion, strong performances against an Indonesia Dream Team, the Vietnam national team and Japanese side Nagoya Grampus led to him being touted as a future star, and being compared favourably to Cesc Fàbregas.
Following these strong performances, Zelalem stated that he hoped to make a few appearances during the 2013–14 season. He remained in the team for the Emirates Cup match against Galatasaray on 4 August, but was unable to keep Arsenal from sliding to a 2–1 defeat. Zelalem was selected on the bench in Arsenal’s second Premier League game of the season, a 3–1 victory over Fulham on 24 August, but did not make an appearance. However, on 10 September, Zelalem announced on Twitter that he had sustained an injury that would keep him out of action for up to two months. Although he announced his return to training in late October, Arsène Wenger confirmed that he would not be fit enough for the League Cup match against Chelsea on 29 October, contrary to rumour. He returned to action for Arsenal’s youth side a week later in a UEFA Youth League fixture against Borussia Dortmund on 6 November, playing the entire match in a 2–2 draw.

gedion zelalem On 24 January 2014, Zelalem made his debut with Arsenal’s senior squad, coming on as a substitute for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 71st minute of their 4–0 home FA Cup victory against Coventry City.

On 18 March 2014, Zelalem signed a new contract extension with Arsenal to last until 2017.

On 9 December 2014, he made his second appearance for Arsenal, coming on as a substitute in the beginning of the second half, in a 4-1 away win against Galatasaray in UEFA Champions League.
Gedion Zelalem, the 18-year-old Arsenal youth player who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in December, has been called up by Germany’s under-18 national team.

Zelalem was born in Germany but lived in the Washington, D.C. area from ages 9 to 15, when he entered the Arsenal academy. He played on German youth teams growing up, but declined an invitation to play for Germany’s under-17 team in 2014.
It’s unknown if he’ll accept the invitation to play for the under-18 team. Gedion Zelalem

Zelalem is regarded as one of the most promising youth prospects in England. He has appeared in the FA Cup and a Champions League game, but has yet to debut for the first team in the Premier League.

The U.S. is in the process of filing an exception with FIFA that would make him eligible to play for the U.S. immediately. US Soccer president Sunil Gulati told ESPNFC he hoped the paperwork would be done by April.

FIFA requires naturalized citizens to live in a country for five years after age 18 for them to play for the national team. An exception — which FIFA has granted liberally in the past, ESPNFC reports — would allow him to bypass that rule and play right away.

Coach Jurgen Klinsmann recently said,

Zelalem could walk into the U.S. first team once he’s eligible. That’s something that Germany, the reigning World Cup winners, cannot offer the 18-year-old. While Germany is the more prestigious team, there’s no guarantee that Zelalem — even if he goes on to have a successful career — will ever break into the first team, much less play in a major competition.

gedion zelalemKlinsmann has been aggressive in recruiting dual nationals since he took over, particularly German-Americans. There were five German-Americans on the 23-man World Cup roster in Brazil.

Gedion ZelalemUltimately, it could come down to which country Zelalem identifies with more strongly. He was born in Berlin, but spent his formative years in the D.C. area.

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger told SI’s Jeff Bradley last summer,

If you speak to Gedion, it sounds like you’re speaking to an American. And, certainly, when we found him, he was living in D.C. and thinking of himself as a young U.S. kid.

This one nah fight for the strongest oh….make we watch see who go win.

Let’s meet Reid Hoffman

reid hoffmanReid Garrett Hoffman was born on August 5, 1967. Hoffman was born in Stanford, California, to Deanna Ruth (Rutter) and William Parker Hoffman, Jr. and grew up in Berkeley, California. His paternal great-great-great-grandfather was Christian Presbyterian minister and Indiana University president pro tempore Theophilus Adam Wylie. Reid’s uncle Eric Hoffman is a writer. He attended high school at The Putney School, where he farmed maple syrup, drove oxen and studied epistemology. He graduated from Stanford University in 1990, where he won both a Marshall Scholarship and a Dinkelspiel Award, with a BS in Symbolic Systems and Cognitive Science. He went on to earn an M.A. in philosophy from Wolfson College, Oxford University in 1993 as a Marshall Scholar.
He is an American internet entrepreneur, venture capitalist and author. Hoffman is best known as the co-founder of LinkedIn, a business-oriented social network used primarily for professional networking. Hoffman, with a net worth of US$4.7 billion (as at January, 2015), is ranked as #341 on the list of the world’s richest people.
While in college, according to Hoffman, he formed a conviction that he wanted to try to influence the state of the world on a large scale. He saw academia as an opportunity to make an “impact”, but later realized that an entrepreneurial career would provide him with a larger platform.

When I graduated from Stanford my plan was to become a professor and public intellectual. That is not about quoting Kant. It’s about holding up a lens to society and asking ‘who are we?’ and ‘who should we be, as individuals and a society?’ But I realized academics write books that 50 or 60 people read and I wanted more impact.

reid hoffmanWith that in mind, Hoffman pursued a career in business and entrepreneurship. He joined Apple Computer in 1994, where he worked on eWorld, an early attempt at creating a social network. eWorld was acquired by AOL in 1996. He later worked at Fujitsu before co-founding his first company – SocialNet.com in 1997. It focused “on online dating and matching up people with similar interests, like golfers who were looking for partners in their neighborhood.” Peter Thiel has said SocialNet.com was literally an idea before its time. It was a social network 7 or 8 years before that became a trend.
While at SocialNet, Hoffman was a member of the board of directors during the founding of PayPal, an electronic money transmission service. In January 2000, he left SocialNet and joined PayPal full-time as the company’s COO. Allen Blue, whom Hoffman hired at PayPal, said that “PayPal had to scratch and claw for every advantage it had, and Reid became an expert at competing effectively in an extremely competitive environment.” Hoffman was responsible for all external relationships for PayPal, including payments infrastructure (VISA, MasterCard, ACH, WellsFargo), business development (eBay, Intuit, and others), government (regulatory, judicial), and legal. Peter Thiel, Hoffman’s boss at PayPal, has said that Hoffman “ was the firefighter-in-chief at PayPal. Though that diminishes his role because there were many, many fires.” At the time of PayPal’s acquisition by eBay for $1.5B in 2002, he was executive vice president of PayPal. reid hoffman
Hoffman co-founded LinkedIn in December 2002 with two former colleagues from SocialNet (including Allen Blue), a former college classmate and a former colleague from his time at Fujitsu. It launched on May 5, 2003, as one of the first business-oriented online social networks. Peter Thiel and Keith Rabois, colleagues of Hoffman’s at PayPal, invested in LinkedIn. As of November 2014, LinkedIn has over 332 million members in more than 200 countries and territories. The site allows registered users to create professional profiles and connect with each other. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection. According to Forbes,

LinkedIn is, far and away, the most advantageous social networking tool available to job seekers and business professionals today. reid hoffman

Reid Hoffman was LinkedIn’s founding CEO for the first four years before becoming chairman and President, Products in February 2007. He became Executive chairman in June 2009. With the IPO of LinkedIn on May 19, 2011, Hoffman owns a stake worth an estimated $2.34 billion, not including any potential benefits from Greylock Partners, where he was named a Partner in 2009. Hoffman believes that many people still do not know how to use its service and it is LinkedIn’s job to help them out. In an interview, he said,

you have to think proactively about how to use a tool that enables your ability to move in ways that you weren’t able to move before, and most of people are not very good at that.

After the PayPal sale to eBay, Hoffman became one of Silicon Valley’s most prolific and successful angel investors. According to venture capitalist David Sze,

Hoffman is arguably the most successful angel investor in the past decade.

Dave Goldberg, CEO of SurveyMonkey said,

Hoffman is the person you want to talk to when you are starting a company.

In 2010 Hoffman joined Greylock Partners and runs their $20 million Discovery Fund. His areas of focus at Greylock include consumer and services, enterprise software, consumer Internet, enterprise 2.0, mobile, social gaming, online marketplaces, payments, and social networks.

reid hoffman
According to David Kirkpatrick’s book The Facebook Effect, Reid Hoffman arranged the first meeting between Mark Zuckerberg and Peter Thiel, which led to Thiel’s initial $500,000 angel investment in Facebook. Hoffman invested alongside Thiel in Facebook’s very first financing round.
Hoffman’s current investments include Airbnb, One Kings Lane, Swipely, Viki, Coupons.com, Edmodo, Wrapp, TrialPay, Xapo, and Talko. Past investments include Flickr, Digg, SixApart, Wikia, Permuto, thesixtyone, Tagged, IronPort, Ping.fm, Nanosolar, Care.com, Knewton, Kongregate, Last.fm, Technetto, Vendio, VigLink, Viki and shopkick. He served on Zynga’s board of directors from March 2008 to June 2014.
Reid Hoffman has spoken at the XPrize Foundation’s conference and the TED conference in Long Beach in 2012. He is a frequent lecturer at Stanford University, Oxford University, Harvard University, MIT’s Media Lab, and others. He has appeared on The Charlie Rose Show, Fareed Zakaria’s Global Public Square on CNN and other current affairs television programs.

REID GARRETT HOFFMAN

Hoffman has published a variety of posts as a “LinkedIn Influencer” on LinkedIn. He published an essay proposing a new form of credentialing for university students and professionals entitled “Disrupting the Diploma.” On his personal website, he published “LinkedIn’s Series B Pitch to Greylock: Pitch Advice for Entrepreneurs,” in which he analyzed LinkedIn’s 2004 Series B venture funding pitch deck and offered advice to prospective entrepreneurs on how to formulate a pitch deck.
Hoffman has also written op-eds in the Washington Post, including one published in 2009 entitled “Let Startups Bail Us Out” encouraging funding for grassroots innovation in the wake of the financial crisis and another in June 2013 entitled “Immigration promotes entrepreneurship and prosperity” advocating for immigration reform. He has written for Strategy+Business on professional networking and is an “Influencer” on LinkedIn where he posts original written content.

  • In September 2014, the Academy of Achievement awarded Hoffman with the annual Golden Plate award, which honors accomplished individuals “for significant achievement in their fields.”
  • In April 2014, President Barack Obama named Hoffman as a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship “to help develop the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

Crazy Redirects to Apps Store: Here’s Why

Redirects

I had this same issue persistently today and if you are an active web surfer like me , then you most likely experienced the same. Basically, it is not just a today thing though, the internet is quite flooded with sites that simply can’t keep you where you came; they just have a way of annoyingly sending you elsewhere.

Happily browsing through your favorite sites, clicking links – then, boom! – your screen was littered with pop-up advertisements! That thing is so annoying, yeah!

Well, sometime back in history when this problem was like normal and quite common,  it became so prevalent , people began installing pop-up blocking software on their PCs as a solution to the ongoing annoyance.

Today, as users make the transition to mobile, a new irritation is beginning to take hold – web links that unexpectedly redirect you from your browser to the app store, or even those that immediately launch mobile apps themselves. *hell yeah! I downloaded two apps today,I had no idea what they were about*

 The Auto-Redirects Ad

A number of mobile users began to experience problems that involved users being automatically redirected to the iTunes App Store or Google Play when they were only trying to click a link and read a news article, for example, or use one of the mobile apps they already had installed on their phone.

At the time, a number of high-profile companies were impacted by the problem, including Imgur, the AP, NBC, Hearst properties, various newspaper sites and blogs, eBay, Perez Hilton, SomethingAwful,WeatherUnderground, TwitPic, Cheezburger.com, Slickdeals, Twitchy, NHL, and many others.

This was not the first time this sort of abuse took place, either – it just came to a head because so many popular online destinations were affected around the same time.

The problem had to do with shady third-party ad networks which would run auto-redirecting ads on the sites and apps which were hard for the properties themselves to detect or block because the advertisers would sometimes change their ad to behave this way after it was approved. Plus, some networks would sometimes buy inventory from others, blurring the line as to who’s responsible to for the rogue ads in the first place.

Apple actually addressed this particular problem with an updated beta release of iOS 8 last year, preventing ads from automatically redirecting people to the App Store without user interaction first taking place.

Now recently this same problem has popped up again. According to information provided by AraLabs , which researches advertising fraud, they identified another case of the infamous automatic App Store redirect in the wild.

It seems to indicate the fix provided by Apple either wasn’t fully viable (or it never actually made it into the full iOS 8 release).

The Root Cause

The current redirect they uncovered is being used by Zynga, which redirects users to their apps from online ads. In one example, they found that Slate was one of the affected publishers. They were serving an ad hosted on the AppNexus platform which was causing the problem.(It has been pulled down though)

It might interest you to know advertisers aren’t the only ones abusing the ability to use redirects to take web surfers directly to mobile applications unexpectedly. In some cases, businesses themselves have taken advantage of new technologies to push mobile web users into their native apps (as opposed the app store app), even when that wasn’t the users’ intent.

Addressing the Issue

However, Google has just addressed this problem in the latest release of its mobile Chrome browser, which no longer allows these sorts of links (deeplinks) to be triggered by a web page unless there’s been some sort of user interaction first.

Redirects

This means that an unsuspecting web surfer won’t be able to type in a search box, then find themselves automatically shuffled off into a mobile app, but it doesn’t mean that Google is ending support for deep linking.

As much as I like to say this problem is nearing minimization, however, with more mobile internet use , advertisers and site owners might opt another means of putting users to good use.

Now quotes, as I usually say I’m here to enlighten you, my readers. Me love una wella and want make una make am in life so read up and digest these few quotes;

APPLE’S STEVE JOBS

quotes

  • Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.
  • Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma-which is living with the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
  • No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it and that’s likely how it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.
  • For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘if today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
  • You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you only can connect them backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
  • You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down , and it has made all the difference in my life.

FACEBOOK’S MARK ZUCKERBERG

quotes

  • The biggest risk is not taking any risk… In a world that changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.
  • By giving people the power to share, we’re making the world more transparent.
  • There is a huge need and a huge opportunity to get everyone in the world connected, to give everyone a voice and to help transform society for the future.
  • The scale of the technology and infrastructure that must be built is unprecedented, and we believe this is the most important problem we can focus on.
  • I think a simple rule of business is, if you do the things that are easier first, then you can actually make a lot of progress.
  • Move fast and break things. Unless you are breaking stuff, you are not moving fast enough.

MICROSOFT’S BILL GATES

quotes

  • It is fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.
  • Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.
  • Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.
  • If you can’t make it good, at least make it look good.
  • We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.

Anambra state’s Siren for Horn

siren

According to Wikipedia, a siren is a loud noise-making device. Sirens are used on emergency services vehicles such as ambulances, police cars and fire trucks. There are two general types of siren; pneumatic and electronic.

Government may have standards for vehicle-mounted sirens. For example, in California, sirens are designated Class A or Class B. A Class A siren is loud enough that it be mounted nearly anywhere on a vehicle, while Class B sirens are not loud and must be mounted on a plane parallel to the level roadway and parallel to the direction the vehicle travels when driving in a straight line. It is obvious we use the Class A in Anambra state.

Sirens must be approved by local agencies, in some cases. On October30th 2014, the Federal Road Safety Commission decried the use of siren by security agencies. The Sector Commander affirmed that the law against illegal use of siren was still in force, saying only the offices of the President, the leadership of the National Assembly and Governors, with some designated security and other departments, but “the use of the siren by any other person is illegal.

siren

So, I needed to give you guys a basic understanding of what a siren is and what it is used for.
My people abeg is there anywhere you saw that siren is a type of horn used to alert a vehicle or pedestrian of your approach? I’m sure your answer is NO…capital N…O! Wetin I dey see for Anambra state confuses me.siren

  • Why would a Police vehicle that is not on an emergency mission be blaring its siren anyhow?
  • Why would a politician, just because he/she has a small convoy and is coming out for one office or the other  keep on disturbing the peace of the people you claim you wanna serve?
  • Why would vehicles belonging to vigilante groups or associations have sirens?
  • Why would bank vehicles blare sirens on the road like it is the vehicle’s horn?

These things keep me in a state of dilemma, so it is my responsibility as a strong citizen of this nation to air my view on it. It…is…absurd…totally irresponsible and completely unethical. It is called noise pollution and lack of orderliness. There is no order in this state…a state that has young able-bodied men choosing to be touts as an occupation. Gosh! It makes me weep to see great potentials go to waste…abi wetin una think on this matter cos I believe it concerns us all? Reason am.

GOOD MORNING.

Women and Money

There are two little black birds sitting on a wall, one named Peter the other named…oh! You are already reading. Didn’t know shaaa, was reminiscing about my nursery days. I have a couple of questions for guys out there because we will be reading about women and money;

  • Fellas, have you noticed that when it is almost pay day, your cheque becomes ‘our’ cheque?
  • Your lady starts asking questions like when do we get paid?
  • Did we already put our cheque in the bank?

And I’m thinking, there is a lot of we…we, going on around here. When did you start speaking French? So think about it; when your lady starts speaking French, start speaking Spanish ‘adios’. women and money
I have been staying clear of some of my female friends since my last post on “in the line of advanced begging”. That very day I received a lot of calls from both male and female friends of mine. The male folks congratulated me on the post but men; I was bombarded by some of my female pals. Oh boy! Come see verbal judo…na God save me.
Anyway, they told me that I should stop castigating the women folk, saying that I’m a misogynist and so on…so here I am to turn things around. There are no advanced beggars. Blimey. You go fear…fear…we have a lot of advance beggars oh!

Most painful is they don’t have one Central bank and once you are down, they are gone…unto the next one…unfaithful Daughters of Eve. women and money

Piece of advice; never trust them or try to understand them.

women and money

I said something about respect. If a man keeps depending on a woman he loses his respect from not just the woman but the society at large, it is the same with women. All human beings are equal. Male. Female. All the same. Bla…bla…bla…

Women and money always go hand in hand… no money no love, no money no sex, no money no food, no money no air…lol
Do you think if you spend too much money on a woman that she owes you something?

Come on, there are beggars out there who we give money and don’t take anything back but the ‘usual thank you, God bless you’. Why should it be different with the women folks who are our advanced beggars? So, they should do same; you buy a new Range Rover Sport for a girl and all she has to do is say ‘thank you and God bless you’, right? Won’t that make you feel much better? You gave to charity, helped the poor (advanced beggars) and you receive God’s blessing which is greater than anything you can imagine.

Lmao…I don’t know where i always come up with this ‘BS’ I keep writing about. OKAY! Let us do it this way…I need y’all to comment after this post and I’ll reply everything y”all got to say so ‘adios’ for now…

Meet The Young Gifted Black YGB

Young Gifted Black

Mkparu CJ (Chijoke, Carl Jones) a.k.a Young Gifted Black (YGB) is a Hip Hop artiste, songwriter, model and fashion designer from Anambra state, Nigeria. He was born on the 21st of May, 1991 and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education in the University of Lagos (UniLag) and he is currently running a Second Degree in Music in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. As a kid he listened to Classical genera like Beethoven, Handel, Bach, Andrea Bocelli, Mozart but eventually grew into Hip Hop. In this interview, YGB gives us an insight into his life and career.

Tell us about your childhood and educational background.

Growing up was fun and practically I thank God for it because it improved my overall psychology on life. I was born in Enugu state, the legendary coal city “042”, and in 1997 my family and I moved to Lagos.

I attended VON Primary School, Enugu until in 1997 when I moved to Lagos, I continued at VICWIN Preparatory School, Onipetesi Estate and I was the valedictorian of my set. In 2002, after my primary education, Pops made me attend a secondary school in the east ”Federal Government College Nise, Awka, Anambra state because he wanted me to be grounded in the Igbo culture and to learn the language properly and I finished in 2008. I obtained a BSc in Mathematics in the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and currently, am pursing a second degree in Music in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state (UNIZIK).

Young Gifted Black

Wow… a degree in music, why?

Well…. I believe my music talent is inborn, but I want to broaden my scope and I think that learning the basics will impact and improve my career. Also, am studying music due to the nature of the genre am trying to create “Hip Hop Fusion” which is mixing Hip Hop with Afro beats and Soul and that is a wonderful pieces of art.

Who/What inspired you to go into music?

While growing up, i was influenced by Pops into the Classical genre like Beethoven, Handel, Bach, Andrea Bocelli, Mozart and the rest of them also got unto Yanni but that was later on in life. Hip Hop on the other hand was totally something that robbed off on me, thanks to my elder brother and trust me I am loving it, I remember because he always got these albums home and I just rip the whole thing into my desktop back then and I play it all day, from N.W.A. to Jay-Z to DMX to Flipmode to D12 to Nas and all that just made me love the act… Nas made me want to practice, I also happened to be one of those who now say I ‘used’ to be a Jay-Z fan… So after all these and getting into the music class in my secondary school we were asked to make remixes of any song we wanted and well while everybody chose to go reggae or RnB or some other genres, I just didn’t see any other genre that would fit just like Hip Hop did, Hip Hop is just that all weather, all situation, all mood genre you just have to either turn up or turn down the tempo.

Young Gifted Black

When did your music career kickoff?

Officially I kicked off my Hip Hop career in 2008 upon gaining admission into University of Lagos, there I was opportune to meet with a couple Hip Hop Heads like XII gauge to Jay Berg, to Murder Ace, Calculus, Dez “Black jesus back then”, Diverse whom I owe a lot for putting through the roughest parts of starting a Hip Hop career, Curte Brown “Cjay back then” whom I hit up my first stage performance in school with, also was opportune to meet Dark Poet, the late Da Grin whom wasn’t a student but always came around to share his insights and lyricism with us, and a whole lot of other rappers it’s like a whole long list but the two people whom got me headed in the direction of a music career must be Diverse and the King Kong himself ‘Vector’ that dude can rap to a talking drum and about anything he sees and he had me develop the skill too and it has kept me going. I also happen to have had the opportunity to be a founding member of Unilag Allstars. So music started off in 2008 and seven years after I am working on releasing my debut mix tape at the end of the Year titled “Diary of a YGB [Yung Gifted Black]”.

Hmm… Diary of a YGB, tell me about it.

Diary of a YGB is exactly what the name implies.. a diary. It is made up of 14songs which symbolizes 2weeks on a diary. Addressing me, my problems, my joys, hardship or royalty when it comes to the mic. Its not just focused on me but also on every young gifted black out there being told he/she isn’t worth it or can’t succeed. 4 out of 14 of the beats will be by the legendary Paul Cbbin USA, Kurt Terra from South Africa who is my producer/international manager have 5 slots on the mix tape. Two songs off it was inspired by my best friend Ms Dwane and other people have their various inputs.

The whole concept of the diary is to create a work piece that at least gets played once a day since its going to be in track days instead of track numbers. So, while you have track one on another artists work, you have 1st Monday on mine.

And the name YGB, what does it mean?

YGB means Young Gifted Black and apart from being a stage name YGB happens to be my identity, I totally dig the concept of brand building so I knew I had to find a name that sums up everything about me without being too complex and honestly, I can’t remember where YGB popped out from but when it did I knew this was it, Yung Gifted Black… there is no better way to put it…

Young Gifted Black

Which artistes would you like to work with?

My Dream project is a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, yes Kendrick and a complete one would have Kanye West handling production might as well just quit after that LOL…, well apart from him I still have the likes of Meek Mill & Wale. Back home here I would like to work with Don Jazzy, Jesse Jags, TuFace, Eva, Patoranking, Davido, Vector, Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Cynthia Morgan, Chidinma, FeFe, Emma Nyra, would give almost anything for a song with Asa, I also hope to work with BOJ, Blackmagic, it’s a long list I tell you…

Apart from the Diary of a YGB, are you handling any other projects?

I look forward to the official kick off of my foundation ALG foundation {Atomic Life Guard foundation} which looks into Child care and skills development, we are planning on working with various NGO’s to make this successful. And I hope to use this medium to payback to my country.

And YGB’s life philosophy quotes:

Stress yourself a lot more than you stress others; don’t let anything or anyone get in between you and your happiness; work till you are vying for the same spot with your idols and in the words of the Late Steve Jobs “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish”…

YGB is indeed a young gifted black.

Love…what to do?

love...what to doMy ex-girlfriend once asked me if I loved her. Do I love her? Well, let’s just say in the course of a 3-year relationship I bought her a hat, a scarf, a t-shirt and a sweater. We broke up…I let her keep the sweater.

Now, I know you cannot put a price tag on love but that sweater really set a brother back, aite? You know what I’m saying?

How far should a man go for love?
This is the question I want you guys, my esteemed readers to answer. I have gotten a couple of answers to this question from people of both genders. Would have loved to let you in on them but wanna know yours first.

Now, love is love. It doesn’t matter what race the girl is, when the lights go off we are all black…lol!
There is this girl I met just recently and damn! She fine…she is so beautiful, physically and intellectually. Now, this girl has made it clear that she just wants to be friends and I understand her loud and clear but I don’t want to do that because I have feelings for her. Yes, feelings.
I remember telling myself that this year I ain’t falling for no chick but hmmm…it hasn’t worked out so far. I am willing to do anything (within my power) for this girl but she is like the Nigerian electricity; comes on and goes off. This moment she is all awesome and passionate and the next she is all ‘stay clear man’. It is funny though because I really do want to be with her no matter what and I have explained it to her but to no avail. What more can I do? Sorry I can’t spill things I’ve done for her (she is probably reading this post right now) though they are not so great, but I’m willing to do more.love...what to do

So, love…what to do?
How far should I go for love?

I was about writing on something else, probably about my fantasy girl and how far I should go in making it come to reality but I think I’ll pass; let’s back up a little to the girl I am liking. Can you believe that this girl described ‘love’ as a conceptual idea formulated from different feelings and emotions? She said that shit ain’t real…for real! She gave this brother no hope. Anyway, I don’t blame her, come on who would put faith in something that’s started by a little white baby with wings and no pants, flying out of the clouds and shooting arrows. Yeah! And what kind of name is Cupid? That shit ain’t real. Or is it? I will not say I am confused but I just shared this so you can advise me on what to do.

love...what to do

I know y’all love me like I do you so you will help me in defeating this dilemma and hopefully get her to wanting me too… fingers crossed as I anxiously wait.

Thanks in advance…

aishat noble-mustaphaThe minblowing death of Silverbird staff, the beautiful and elegant Aishat Noble-Mustapha has caused a devastating skirmish throughout media community. The vibrant young lady was killed on Saturday 14th March 2015 as she returned to her Ogudu home from work.

Aishat was stabbed multiple times. According to official reports, the incident occured between 7 and 8PM on Saturday. The police is currently investigating the case and a suspect is in custody. The Noble-Mustapha family is distraught and are seeking for justice.

Detectives attached to Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos have begun investigation into last weekend’s murder of Aisha Noble-Mustapha, 25-year-old  Silverbird staff, in Ogudu  GRA, Lagos.

The prime suspect, simply identified as Chima, has denied having a hand in the murder of Aisha.  The Edo State-born victim was attacked with a knife as she came back from work around 11pm.  He also said he was never her lover.aishat noble-mustapha

Chima said he rushed to the scene to save the late Aisha. This was, however, debunked by the owner of the building at 25, Salaudeen Akano Street, GRA, Ogudu, who said an undisclosed identity who claimed to have rushed out of his flat when he heard a bang at the gate met the suspect and the deceased inside the gutter in front of the building. The landlord, it was gathered, was also arrested.

There was blood stain on the floor where the late Aisha had struggled with her assailant before landing inside the gutter. A resident, who spoke after much persuasion, revealed that the late Aisha, who hailed from Auchi, Edo state, was the only daughter of her aged parents.

He said the suspect once lived in the same compound with the late Aisha.

According to the resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity,

Aisha was an amiable person. We were all stunned when we heard she was murdered in cold blood.

Chima (the suspect) was living with his elder brother in one of the flats in the building with the late Aisha.  But he had a misunderstanding with his brother, which led to his being evicted from the house. We were so shocked to discover he was connected with the murder because he left his brother’s house three weeks ago. How he was later found with the deceased right inside the gutter remains a mystery to be unravelled by the police.

A man that rushed out to see what was happening, said

even when he attempted to bring the deceased out of the gutter,  Chima who was  by her side inside the gutter, held on to Aisha preventing the man from dragging her out.

Again, someone claimed to have seen Chima hitting the late Aisha. The man said he never knew he was stabbing her, until news later filtered in.

A source, who would rather not want his name in print also said, the suspect was caught with the victim’s phone and he could not give satisfactory explanation on how he came about it.

The boy was found with her phone. He kept the phone in his boxers and while people were looking for it, he didn’t say anything. When the phone was found on him, he still kept mute and refused to talk. He also denied being involved in the killing and said he met her in a pool of blood after she was stabbed and assisted her in keeping the phone.

The beautiful and elegant Aishat

Aishat Noble-Mustapha’s aged parents who reside in Auchi, were reportedly yet to believe the fate that had befallen their only daughter, more so, only child. Her aunt, Mrs Aisha Haruna, who the late Aisha lived with before moving into her apartment, was crying at the SCID  where the case was transferred to. Her husband, Mr Haruna, could not betray his emotion. He simply described the late Aisha as peace-loving, hoping that the police would find her assailant.

Meanwhile, the state command’s spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu, assured that the police will ensure that justice is served. He said,

We condole with the family and friends of the deceased. Well-trained detectives have since resumed investigation into the case and would ensure that justice is served.

This is actually brutal. I wonder what this nation is turning into? What could be the reason for anyone to kill such a beauty? Why should you even commit murder at all? Lord, help us… I pray the culprit is brought to book and Justice be served. Really sad.
