Denrele Edun or ‘Adenrele Oluwafemi Edun’, was born on the 13th of June, 1983. He is a Nigerian television presenter for Channel O. He was also a TV presenter for Soundcity.
Denrele was born in Hamburg, Germany to a Yoruba father and an Indian-Mauritius mother. He is the only son and has two sisters. He grew up in Germany and came to Nigeria when he was five where he attended St Gregory’s College, Ikoyi and the University of Lagos.
Denrele is known for his unique fashion style and personality. He started his television career as an actor at eleven when he played a presenter/producer on Kiddievision 101 on NTA Network. As an undergraduate at the University of Lagos he went into modelling, and after graduation, he joined Sound City as a TV presenter. Denrele studied English Education at the University of Lagos.
Denrele Edun is an entertainment personality whose style has been described as “punk and fun”. In an interview with Modern Ghana, he stated

I am just expressing my individuality. Most people ask me that question and I would say I just want to be me. Some people think I dress like this to attract attention, but I have always had attention from childhood.

Denrele has won 16 awards and over 30 nominations in his career. He has previously worked with SoundCity before he was forced out and he moved on to become one of Channel O’s VJs.

Denrele has interviewed the likes of Akon, Beyoncé Knowles, Tyler Perry, Lil’ Kim, Snoop Dogg, Cuba Gooding, Amerie, and LLoyd. Also, he was really close to Goldie before she passed away (God rest her soul).

Denrele Edun hosted the movie premier of Hoodrush. Denrele has been credited for being behind the success of Big Brother Amplified Winner Karen Igho.

When asked about his sexuality he said,

Over time, they have labelled me as a homosexual, heterosexual, bi-sexual, I have been called all sorts of names. When people see that you are successful in the entertainment industry, they try to peddle some negative stories about you. Maybe they call me names because of the way I dress. When I started out and people began calling me such names, I found it very disturbing, annoying, and demeaning but I laugh about it now. When I am asked about my sexuality, I just tell them that I am a sexual outlaw. I don’t think my sexuality should be an issue because I am doing my work very well.

And you’ve seen it folks. Denrele Edun is a sexual outlaw, I wonder what that means though.

Denrele claims he is single and when asked what could be done to attract him he said,

Nothing really; I just love people that are natural and down to earth. I love people who can make dialogue with me in a matter of seconds. I don’t want a yes-man around me. I have met people like that in the course of time. I have also met very interesting people.
A girl once asked me at a point in time if I could change my brand identity for her and I willingly agreed. I told her I would change for her because she was somebody I really liked. But unfortunately, things did not work out. This was about four years ago. I still like her and my close friends know that I still like her a lot. She was seeing someone at the time and I was willing to share her. That was how much I liked her. I would not say she was extremely gorgeous but there was something very special about her that I could not lay my fingers on. Her name is Yvonne. But that is in the past.

Recently Denrele Edun became one of the most-talked about celebrities. At the 2015 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) which held at Eko Hotel and Suites, VI on Saturday, March 8, 2015, you can talk about taking weirdness to a new level, the Channel O VJ wore a revealing, totally feminine gold-coloured gown which has been described by many as outrageous. He spots a blonde hair along with it and a carnival mask but you can be sure he submitted himself to paparazzi even without asking (picture above)…

Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa popularly known as IK was born on May 21, 1979 in Lagos, Nigeria. He is an On Air Personality (OAP) and a TV presenter. IK obtained his Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Lagos.

 IK’s career interest started when he was still a child, he acted in stage plays and at the age of 15, he recorded a tape in which he pretended to be a radio show host taking calls from listeners with his siblings and cousins. His primary education was in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria and later on he moved back to Lagos, where he completed his secondary and tertiary education. While studying in the University of Lagos, he took part in many stage plays and concerts, where he discovered and groomed his talent as a Master of Ceremonies/Host.

Ik worked for Rhythm 93.7 FM after graduating from the University in 2001 , as a presenter popularly known as The Wild Child because of his humorous and unpredictable personality. He also worked as a Client Service Executive for an advertising firm after his NYSC program but returned to Rhythm 93.7 in 2005.

ually to the spotlight, from when he hosted the radio program ”Rap Kulture” in 2001. He has been the host for almost all the shows for Rhythm 93.7 FM at one time or another. IK co hosted Temptation Nigeria, a show that featured participants from across Nigeria whose knowledge of their country is the major strength for participation. In Studio 53, IK was a field presenter on the M-Net magazine show that showcases cultural events, historical places, music, art, design, fashion and celebrity personalities from across the African continent. In December 2012, he co hosted Lagos Countdown and In 2013 he was co-host of the first ever AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards. IK has hosted lots of top notch shows in Nigeria.

IK started hosting Big Brother Africa in September 2009 taking over from Kabelo Ngakane. Big Brother Africa grew and became a household name putting IK on the continental spotlight. IK brought his candid and charismatic personality to the show. he also signed a deal with MNET Africa to continue to host Big Brother Africa, and this makes him the most sought after reality television host in Nigeria/Africa.

BBA was the first show I’d done of this magnitude, it was amazing to be in 40-million homes across Africa all at once. At first it’s super intimidating, but you get used to it before the end of the season.

IK got married to his very dear friend, Olohije Osakioduwa on the 3rd of October, 2008 in Lagos after four years of friendship and a year of dating and they are blessed with two children Osahar and Micah. In an interview with The Expatriate Magazine IK said:

Olo was the only friend who seemed to get me and did not want to change me.

IK is the go-to presenter, he is charismatic, talented, humorous and definitely African’s favorite.

I want us to get to know my Hollywood favorite actress; Shailene Woodley. Shailene Diann Woodley is actually my birth mate, born on November 15, 1991. She is an American actress. Her first roles included Felicity Merriman in the 2005 television film Felicity: An American Girl Adventure and Amy Juergens in The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–13).

 
Woodley found breakthrough success in The Descendants (2011). Her performance as Alexandra King received praise from critics and award recognition, including the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female and a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture. In 2013, she played Aimee Finecky in the independent film The Spectacular Now, her performance gained recognition from critics, and won the Special Jury Award for Acting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.

 
The beautiful Shailene Woodley gained prominence when cast as the main protagonist, Beatrice “Tris” Prior, in The Divergent Series, based on the best-selling series of novels by author Veronica Roth, and Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault in Our Stars, based on the novel of the same name by John Green.

 
Woodley was born in Simi Valley, California. Her mother, Lori (née Victor), is a middle school counselor, and her father, Lonnie Woodley, is a school principal. She has a younger brother. Woodley starred in the film adaptation of Tim Tharp’s novel, The Spectacular Now, as Aimee Finecky, a social outcast trying to plan for the future while falling for a boy who lives in the moment. Production of the film occurred in the summer of 2012 and it premiered at Sundance in January 2013. Her portrayal of Aimee gained praise from critics and she won the Special Jury Award for Acting, alongside Miles Teller, at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and received a nomination for Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. She had also signed on to star in White Bird in a Blizzard, an independent film about a troubled young woman whose life is upended following the mysterious disappearance of her mother, directed by Gregg Araki. In October 2012, it was announced that Woodley was offered the role of Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. On June 19, 2013, it was announced that she was cut from the film. a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and Gwen and their relationship,

and that everyone loved working with Woodley.

On March 19, 2013, Woodley was cast as protagonist Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault in Our Stars, the film adaptation of John Green’s novel of the same name. Green added via Twitter about Woodley; “There were so many amazing auditions for the role of Hazel, but Shailene’s love for the book and her understanding of Hazel blew me away.” The film was released on June 6, 2014, and received positive reviews from critics and was also a box-office success. Woodley’s performance as Hazel received critical acclaim from critics; Peter Travers from Rolling Stones called her a, “sublime actress with a résumé that pretty much proves she’s incapable of making a false move on camera“, and Richard Roeper of Chicago Sun-Times stated that her performance as Hazel is Oscar-worthy; and added, “she’s that memorable” On November 14, 2014, she received The Hollywood Film Award for Hollywood Breakout Performance – Actress for her performance as Hazel.

Woodley starred as Tris Prior in the film Divergent, an adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling young adult novel of the same name, and the first instalment in The Divergent Series; it was released on March 21, 2014. The film received mixed reviews, but Woodley’s performance as Tris received a positive reception; Sam Allard from Orlando Weekly said that,

with her performance as Tris Prior in Divergent, Woodley rescues and then raises up a film that could have been an utter disaster.

Divergent was also a financial success as the film reached the #1 spot at the box-office during its opening weekend.
In November 2014, Woodley was reported to be in talks to star in an Oliver Stone’s film, Snowden, alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Filming began on February 16, 2015 and is set to be released on December 25, 2015.

In 2015, Woodley reappeared as Tris in the second installment in The Divergent Series, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, which began filming on May 27, 2014 and was released on March 20, 2015. Her performance once again received critical acclaim, with Daniel M. Kimmel of New England Movies Weekly writing that, “Woodley does solid work here as she’s done elsewhere, and continues to be someone to watch.” She is set to reprise her role in the two-part finale of the franchise, titled The Divergent Series: Allegiant, with Part 1 scheduled to be released on March 18, 2016 and Part 2 on March 24, 2017.

She has also modeled for GQ magazine.

I’m sure we all know what Respect is but I just want us have a vivid clarification because it is still a problem in the society. Understanding respect is a huge responsibility in creating harmony in a society. Respect is a positive feeling of esteem for a person, a nation or a religion, and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem. Respect can be a specific feeling of regard for the actual qualities of the one respected (e.g., “I have great respect for his attitude”). It can also be conduct in accord with a specific ethic of respect.

 
Respect can be both given and/or received. Depending on an individual’s cultural reference frame, respect can be something that is earned. Respect is often thought of as earned or built over time. Often, continued caring interactions are required to maintain or increase feelings of respect among individuals. Respect should not be confused with tolerance, that’s why understanding respect is a gradual process.

Some people earn the respect of individuals by assisting others or playing important social roles. In many cultures, individuals are considered to be worthy of respect until they prove otherwise. Courtesies that show respect include simple words and phrases like “thank you” in the West, simple physical gestures like a slight bow in the East, a smile or direct eye contact, in the Yoruba land, the young men prostrate for their elders and the ladies courtesy or kneel.

 
Now, you can also see respect as a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important, serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way. Respect is reciprocal and shouldn’t be shown to only elders. Everyone deserves to be respected; young and old respectively.
Respect is a two-way thing, to get it you have to give it.

It has great importance in everyday life. As children we are taught (one hopes) to respect our parents, teachers, and elders, school rules and traffic laws, family and cultural traditions, other people’s feelings and rights, our country’s flag and leaders, the truth and people’s differing opinions. And we come to value respect for such things; when we’re older, we may shake our heads (or fists) at people who seem not to have learned to respect them. We develop great respect for people we consider exemplary and lose respect for those we discover to be clay-footed, and so we may try to show regard to only those who are truly worthy of our respect. We may also come to believe that, at some level, all people are worthy of respect.

We may learn that jobs and relationships become unbearable if we receive no respect in them; in certain social milieus we may learn the price of disrespect if we violate the street law: “Diss me, and you die.” Calls to respect this or that are increasingly part of public life: environmentalists exhort us to respect nature, foes of abortion and capital punishment insist on respect for human life, members of racial and ethnic minorities and those discriminated against because of their gender, sexual orientation, age, religious beliefs, or economic status demand respect both as social and moral equals and for their cultural differences. And it is widely acknowledged that public debates about such demands should take place under terms of mutual respect.
Also in understanding respect we may also learn that how our lives go depends every bit as much on whether we have regard for ourselves. The value of self-respect may be something we can take for granted, or we may discover how very important it is when it is threatened, or we lose it and have to work to regain it, or we have to struggle to develop or maintain it in a hostile environment.

Some people find that finally being able to respect themselves is what matters most about getting off welfare, kicking a disgusting habit, or defending something they value; others, sadly, discover that life is no longer worth living if self-respect is irretrievably lost. It is part of everyday wisdom that respect and self-respect are deeply connected, that it is difficult if not impossible both to respect others if we don’t respect ourselves and to respect ourselves if others don’t respect us. It is increasingly part of political wisdom both that unjust social institutions can devastatingly damage self-respect and that robust and resilient self-respect can be a potent force in struggles against injustice.

1. Treating others the way you want to be treated.
2. Showing kindness and consideration.
3. Liking yourself enough to be yourself.
4. Accepting others for who they are.
5. If people respect you, do same and if they disrespect you, still respect them back.They represent your ideology and you represent yours. Even if it means nothing to you it might mean everything to them.

As much as beauty remains, the most beautiful people in this world are not those with the pretty faces and skinny bodies, nah! It is those who know how to respect the beauty of others.

In understanding pains in relationships, one need not leave any stone unturned, there’s no doubt that relationships are the sweetest things in the world, but just as everything comes with a price so does it also.

I personally don’t believe relationships would be complete without pains, in fact; if I happen to be in a relationship for 3 months without a misunderstanding then I will gentle walkaway, because something is defiantly wrong.

Sidney Onoriode Esiri was born on the 1st of May, 1980 in Ikeja, Lagos state, Nigeria. Known commonly as, Dr SID, he is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and dentist, who is originally from Delta state, but was raised in Lagos. His mother a successful fashion designer and his father the legendary actor Justus Esiri who is a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and famous for his role as the Village Headmaster a Nigerian sitcom popular in the 1980s. The second child of 4 children from an early age he had his heart set on becoming an entertainer. However his life took a different course graduating from the Nigerian Air force Secondary school, Ikeja, SID went on to the University of Ibadan (UI) to study Dental Surgery, During his school years his flair for entertainment could not be hidden as he took part in school plays, dance competitions and concerts winning numerous awards along the way.
Dr SID signed on to a fresh new record label Trybe Records (who released the Nigerian hip hop group Trybesmen) as a choreographer. He would spend the next three years touring as a backup dancer for the Trybesmen.
Dr SID got his chance in front of the mic, when he was made a member of Da Trybe, and given a spot on the song that caused a revolution in Nigerian Hip-hop, “OYA” in 2002 alongside Sasha, 2-Shotz, Timi, DEL, and the Trybesmen (Eldee, Kb and Freestyle). Over the next year SID recorded his Debut Single “Don’t Stop” and had the number 1 video on the MBI top ten for 8 weeks, His music career had to be put on hold as he had to take a year out to finish up his university degree.

Dr SID became a qualified Dentist. He moved to the UK working with the likes of JJC & the 419 squad, Felix Duke, KAS, R70 and D’Banj. Returning to Nigeria he spent the Next year working at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, and then went on to serve his country at Yola in Adamawa state. He also worked at various dental clinics combining dentistry and music.
He started recording a studio album titled Prognosis which featured the single “Raise da roof”. He was nominated in the Best New Act category at the 2005 Amen Awards. He abandoned the album in 2006.
Dr SID after 3 years made the tough decision to quit practising as a dentist and concentrate fully on his music career signing on to Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits Records and records the Mo’ Hits Allstars collective album Curriculum Vitae (CV) which was released in December 2007. He featured on 7 of the 15 tracks released on the album, which include “Booty Call” and “Close to you”.
Dr SID spent most of 2008 touring with the Mo Hits Allstars, and performing at some of the major concerts, including the Thisday Music Festival and Star Mega Jam.

Dr SID started recording his first studio album as a solo artist under Mo’ Hits Records with producer Don Jazzy. The first single of the album Turning Point was titled “Something About You” and was released in September 2009 and is currently moving up the African charts alongside two other Winchi Winchi ft Wande Coal and Pop Something ft D’banj. He also performed at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Kenya as a member of the Mo’ Hits Allstars alongside D’banj, Wande Coal and Kenyan artist STL.

Mo’ Hits Records release Dr SID’s debut album Turning Point on 11 April, Dr SID New Single off Turning Point, “Over the Moon”, hits number 1 on Nigerian top 10.
Following a fall out of the partners at Mo’ Hits Records, D’banj and Don Jazzy, Dr SID has since signed on to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records. He also had three songs from his upcoming album featured on a Mavin Records compilation album titled: Solar Plexus.

Dr SID does Afro Pop, Afro hip-hop and Afrobeats.

Jibo is said to be the world’s first family robot. Over the years, robotics have tried to create a robot that can relate with people but many has failed but Cynthia Breazeal; a pioneer of social robotics at the MIT Media Lab.

Breazeal created Jibo after she watched ”Star Wars” she realized that enough attention wasn’t paid to robots that engage in human interaction and thus she decided to focus on social robots that are designed to interact with humans in an interpersonal manner and have inbuilt humanity like politeness, which lead to the creation of Jibo, which was built by a 20-member team with off-the-shelf mobile components.

Jibo is one of a kind, a smart phone come to life. It is 11 inch tall and can serve as a personal assistant, its a world’s best camera that track actions around and take really nice pictures with you just asking it to, also videos, send messages, play back voicemails, and look things up for you, It have educational and entertainment apps and can do things like act out a story for your kid and even dance. It also have apps that can make it into a sort of security camera. It’s 360 degree motion can swivel towards a sound while you’re away and take a picture or a video. He is both the family companion and the family watch dog.

This robot is the result of years of work and study by Breazeal. She said in an interview with Yahoo news that despite concerns from some people,

robots like Jibo are not intended to replace humans. “It’s about human empowerment,”

Jibo was launched on August, 2014 on Indiegogo and got lots of attention, its campaign raised more than $27.9 million and over 4,800 of it are already pre-sold. Another awesome thing about it is that its pretty affordable, it cost just $599.

Several investors also want a piece of Jibo, these investors include: New York-based VC firm RRE Ventures which is the lead investor, Samsung Ventures, CRV, Flybridge, Fairhaven, Two Sigma, Formation 8 and Osage. The robot creator is planning on using the money obtained to produce more Jibo robots and send pre-order customers their robots by the end of this year. And they are looking for contract manufacturers in Asia which is the homeland of Robotics.

Jibo company also plan on making apps that would be sold on a store dedicated to third-party apps. It will release its software development kit (SDK) to interested developers by the middle of the year making it accessibly to developers who are interested in building for the robot, and these developers will have access to a serial port to be able to add additional hardware on top of it like a motorized cart so it can move around though Breazeal is skeptical about that idea, she thinks it may make Jibo creepy (a moving human-like robot that can express emotions, yeah… that’s creepy). The company is also thinking about how the robot could be integrated into other connected home devices. Because it creates profiles around each individual, it could tailor your thermostat’s temperature or lighting to your preferences whenever it sees you.

Like every new technology, people are amazed at Jibo’s functions and thousands of orders are already placed, some view it as the growth of intelligent assistant products from the tech world, to others its a family companion. I don’t know about you but to me, it screams two words “Robot Invasion!!!..”

Vegetarian Diet (Banana): Vegetarians are known for their strong stance on dairy and meat intake, including their stamina and energy in bed. Very awesome bro, I am very awesome. Anyway can you please tell us your name and a little about your background?

Well, I am Nnaemeka Ifeanyi Chimnazam, born on the 21st of August, 1993. Now, where I was born is the confusing part because my birth certificate reads Abuja but I was born in a hospital in Enugu state. I am from Umunze in Anambra state and the 5th child of 6 children.

So when it comes to where you were born you are lost.

Lol… hopefully one day I will find the root but until then…

Okay, so you are a musician, right?

Yes, I am a hip hop artiste.

Hmm… hip hop! Cool, so what is your stage name?

My stage name is Chimzy or you can call me Chimzypob.

Chimzy! What brought about the choice of such a name?

I got it from a name my mom used to call me to shorten my name.

Nice. Creative, I like that, so when did your music thing kick off?

Well I started music kinda late, I think I was 12, 13 or there about… It was nothing serious back then, just fooling around with rhymes, you know nah… all those boys that used to hit locker and make noise. It was all for fun back then; freestyles and stuff. When I was in primary school I loved drums sha…
Anyway, later on I began writing. I had three rap books. I was listening to TI’s interview one day when he said he writes and rewrites and rewrites, that’s when I wrote my first rap, I never got to voice it though… It is still at the back of my maths note… Lol. And that’s how I started my art.

Please tell us, why rap? There are other genres of music but you chose hip hop, so why?

Rap! Well, I’m a hip hop head so I just towed the line of my mentors. Plus it’s easier to tell stories through rap music… It is way deeper than the regular RnB stuff we hear. There’s always a deeper meaning.

What are your achievements so far in the music world?

So far I’ve done few tracks and have had a couple of nominations (Anambra Youth Awards). I have also shot a video.

Do you do music alone or are you involved with any label?

For now no label but my friends and I have this crew we call ‘POB’. We do shows together but most times I go solo.

What do you see music as?

As I a-fore mentioned, music is an art… I intend to paint pictures with rhymes and rhythm. There are songs that are there to make people happy, but my aim is to paint pictures of hope or pain, to let them see what’s really going on through the words I record… I need to tell stories so the world will see things from my eyes.

In the next five years, where will Chimzy be?

In 5 years I’d be better than I am now, that’s for sure. By the grace of God I’d have penetrated enough hearts, plus I have dreams of working with my favorite man, J.Cole… lol.
Long and short is I’d have made my idols a competition.

You just said J. Cole is your favourite man, does that mean he is your role model?

 Ah! My role model… I’m a big J. Cole fan but my early stages were inspired by Lil Wayne and Drake, the whole punch-line aspect of my rap life. There’s a little bit of Kendrick in me and Slaughterhouse, then Logic. Also, I get inspired by ‘The Weeknd’ (weird I know), and there’s MI, Yung6, Eva.
Funny enough I’m one of those few people that never really listened to Tu Pac but to Biggy though and Jay Z.

Which Nigerian music label do you aspire to get signed under?

If I was ever to get signed in Nigeria I’d say KKTBM but my ultimate goal is Roc Nation.

Final bus stop, I’d probably get a label of my own to groom young acts. Shikena.

Caroline Sam popularly known as Maheeda is a 32 years old Nigerian artiste and model. She had a rough beginning, her single mother died when she was still very young. If they don’t find that in the kind of music you do, then it means there is something wrong. People have to hear Jesus in my lyrics; they need to see Him reflect in my dressing and if I say Jesus is Lord, they need to be able to believe me.

She later changed from gospel to secular music. Maheeda got married to Robert, a Dutch in 2012 and she resides with her family in Holand. she is most popular for her controversial photos and media statements. To her, nudity is show business, it gets her attention and attention is good business.

 

I made a choice to be the kind of woman I am today!!! The one Africans and many self righteous people will call names, it’s ok!!! So before Mr. Anambra Universe, what was your history with pageants like?

Laughs*….uhmm my first pageant was a departmental pageant (mr sociology). Before then I had always wanted to be a super model but I wasn’t serious about modeling. One day a girl walked up to me with a form and said “I bought this form for you because you’ve got what it takes to win mr sociology”. I thought she was just kidding and the next thing she handed over the form to me and asked me to fill it. Iwas touched and inspired I had to fill it.

When I got home that very day I talked to my friend about it, he encouraged me and said it would be a good start for my modeling career.

After that, was Mr Anambra Universe the Next Pageant?

Actually I was signed under Anseek modeling agency. My second pageant was mr unizik.I was the winner in equity *laughs*,if you understand what I mean. my third pageant was Mr. ideal Nigeria 2014, though I didn’t win but I felt like a winner because it gave me all the exposure and the experience one needs in pageant. After that was Mr Anambra universe.

Wow, you seem to have won pretty much almost all your pageants?

Yeah…*smiles*.

Let’s talk Bionic, how has it been since clinching Mr Anambra Universe crown?

Believe me, I have no regrets. It has been great. It has actually made me to be a better person than I was.

*smiles* Well, there is a lot people don’t know about me, anyone that cares to know ought to really get close.

Well, it has not been easy and I still keep appreciating them but I don’t go extreme.

I sing professionally and I am also songwriter. But what I love doing most is swimming.

So recently your fans learnt you lost your brand car. They find it hard to believe how such happened. Can you give more background into the incident?

Some persons never believed it, they thought it was a publicity stunt. But the fact remains that the car is still missing. I woke up that very morning trying to hasten up for my exam and decided to steam the car first. I came out from my apartment and realized that the car had been taken away from where it was packed in front of my closet. I made some calls asking some of my friends around,if they saw the car and no one admitted to have seen it.

It was very frustrating but I am on my feet now. *voice drops*,They can only take away what they see which are material things but they can’t take away what they can’t see which are non material including greatness, potential,skills and abilities. I worked for it and I can always work for better one. I am designed to forever stand tall and live by my knees, because I am a conqueror.

That’s saddening…any reactions yet from your brand, Bionic about the car, are there any efforts in place to recover it?

Yes. They have reported to the police and they have gotten other security agencies involved.

Now JD.com, its smaller but still formidable rival, is branching out into crowdfunding for startups.

JD.com, which filled 689 million orders last year, has launched JD Equity Crowdfunding platform to help startups secure capital.

The project is an offshoot of Coufenzi, the crowdfunding site JD.com opened last July.

The Equity Crowdfunding, on the other hand, is designed for entrepreneurs who need to find early-stage investors.

The site isn’t the first startup crowdfunding site in China, but with JD.com’s resources, it claims to already be the largest.

A JD.com spokesperson told TechCrunch that JD Equity Crowdfunding plans to differentiate from other platforms by “Developing a complete ecosystem for startup companies.” In addition to the crowdfunding site itself, this includes resources such as JD Cloud, its cloud computing unit, financing tools, marketing support, and training from JD.com’s management, as well venture capital partners like Capital Today, ZhenFund, and Sequoia Capital.

In exchange, JD.com will take a small equity stake in each successfully funded startup.

The startups on the Equity Crowdfunding will be pre-screened.

As Technode notes equity crowdfunding sites in China face several challenges, including lack of understanding about how the model works by potential investors and the current lack of laws to regulate equity crowdfunding.

Not only can launching projects that focus on entrepreneurs help e-commerce companies gain goodwill among startups that might use their sites or services, but it can also help them eventually diversify their revenue streams.

Like JD.com, Alibaba is also investing in entrepreneurs, but so far it has focused mainly on e-commerce sellers who rely on its various platforms, including Taobao and Tmall, to conduct business.

The company is reportedly planning to found its own crowdfunding site for startups, according to TechNode.

Well, we all are just looking for smarter ways of easing our lives, keeping in touch, getting things done and even entertaining ourselves, however, we do know a million and one gadgets exist in today’s market and making a choice is not an easy one ; considering affordability, portability and even taste.

Today I was not sure checking out a gadget was on my mind one bit, considering the headache of staring and wishing and still not purchasing but as I was surfing the internet this morning on   Bbc, this pretty device caught my attention. 

Microsoft just unveiled a new tablet device having more softwares but as expected is more expensive than the previous tablet, Surface 2 by same company. This baby (some peeps call their gadgets baby) Surface 3 is powered by an Intel processor, unlike the ARM-based chip in the Surface 2.

As you would expect, it runs on a Windows 8 operating system. According to Bbc’s Leon Kelion, Microsoft’s share of the tablet market has grown from 2.3% to 3.2% as a result, while Apple has seen sales of its iPad decline, although it remains the bestselling brand.

Now Microsoft  targets the Surface 3 at those on tighter budgets such as students and schools, and mobile workers who may want a lighter, smaller design.

Talking About the Features

“For people that need to get stuff done, generally you need a keyboard and some people need a pen, and that’s where our device plays,” Dale Perrigo, a Surface marketing manager said.

He ,however, cautioned that this device is not really produced to serve pure entertainment purposes ,”If you want a pure entertainment that’s not what this device is.” Prospective buyers of Microsoft’s Surface 3 do not have too long to wait as the product will be released in May, 2015.

The basic version of the Surface 3 – features 64 gigabytes of storage, 2GB of RAM and an Intel Atom x7 processor – costs £419. The touchscreen pen and keyboard cover are not included, and add £155 to the cost.

Another bit of warning here is that ” it’s not going to suit everyone as a notebook replacement and will be for people who only want it for lighter productivity tasks.”

This gadget uses Windows 8 rather than Windows RT – and comes with an offer of free upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available which means the entry-level Surface gains access to more programs.

Note also that the Surface 3 here, its Atom-class chip means it will struggle with some processor-intensive programs – such as video editors, computer-aided design (CAD) software and graphics-intensive games. This is where the Pro 3 model will be more suited for.

The new tablet is fanless, but significantly thicker – at 8.7mm (0.34in) – than many of its rivals in order to incorporate a standard USB 3.0 socket.

The producers also  optimised for a port that enables connections to the largest number of devices and peripherals possible.

Being even more thicker than most of its rivals on the market, it might come as ‘turn-off ” for you from this “baby”, but hey, a product can’t have it all; because something has to make you purchase an upgraded version of it when it becomes available *lol*.

Airtel is one of the largest networks in Nigeria. But we’ll be talking about Airtel’s Sunil Mittal, not Airtel itself, funny enough they are both one and the same. I’ll show you why.

Sunil Bharti Mittal was born on the 23rd of October 1957. He is an Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder, chairman and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, which has interests in telecom, retail, financial services, and agri business. The Group flagship Bharti Airtel, with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa and a customer base of over 275 million, is India’s largest telecom company and world’s fourth largest mobile operator. Bharti Airtel clocked revenues of over USD 14.5 billion in FY2013. He is listed as the 8th Richest person in India by Forbes with a Net worth of $7 Billion.

In 2007, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honor. On 1 July 2013 he was elected Vice-Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce. Cool, right?
Well, Sunil Mittal was born in Punjabi Aggarwal Family. His father, Sat Paul Mittal, had been the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha (Indian National Congress) from Punjab, he was elected from Punjab for two terms (1976 & 1982) and nominated to the Rajya Sabha once (1988). He first joined the Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie, but later attended Scindia School at Gwalior and he graduated in 1976 from Panjab University, Chandigarh, with a Bachelor of Arts and Science for which he studied in Arya College, Ludhiana. His father died of cardiac arrest in 1992. So sad…
As a first generation entrepreneur, Mittal started his first business in April 1976 at the age of 18, with a capital investment of 20000 (US$310) borrowed from his father. His first business was to make crankshafts for local bicycle manufacturers.
In 1980, he along with his brothers Rakesh and Rajan started an Import Enterprise named Bharti Overseas Trading Company. He sold his bicycle parts and yarn factories and moved to Mumbai. In 1981, he purchased importing licences from exporting companies in Punjab. He then imported thousands of Suzuki Motor’s portable electric-power generators from Japan. The importing of generators was suddenly banned by the then Indian Government.
In 1984, he started assembling push-button phones in India, which he earlier used to import from a Taiwan company, Kingtel, replacing the old fashioned, bulky rotary phones that were in use in the country then. Bharti Telecom Limited (BTL) was incorporated and entered into a technical tie up with Siemens AG of Germany for manufacture of electronic push button phones. By the early 1990s, Mittal was making fax machines, cordless phones and other telecom gear. Mittal says,

In 1983, the government imposed a ban on the import of gensets. I was out of business overnight. Everything I was doing came to a screeching halt. I was in trouble. The question then was: what should I do next? Then, opportunity came calling. While in Taiwan, I noticed the popularity of the push-button phone — something which India hadn’t seen then. We were still using those rotary dials with no speed dials or redials. I sensed my chance and embraced the telecom business. I started marketing telephones, answering/fax machines under the brand name Beetel and the company picked up really fast.

He named his first push-button phones as ‘Mitbrau’. In 1992, he successfully bid for one of the four mobile phone network licences auctioned in India. One of the conditions for the Delhi cellular license was that the bidder has some experience as a telecom operator. So, Mittal clinched a deal with the French telecom group Vivendi. He was one of the first Indian entrepreneurs to identify the mobile telecom business as a major growth area. His plans were finally approved by the Government in 1994 and he launched services in Delhi in 1995, when Bharti Cellular Limited (BCL) was formed to offer cellular services under the brand name AirTel. Within a few years Bharti became the first telecom company to cross the 2-million mobile subscriber mark. Bharti also brought down the STD/ISD cellular rates in India under brand name ‘Indiaone’.

In May 2008, it emerged that Sunil Mittal was exploring the possibility of buying the MTN Group, a South Africa-based telecommunications company with coverage in 21 countries in Africa and the Middle East. The Financial Times reported that Bharti was considering offering US$45 billion for a 100% stake in MTN, which would be the largest overseas acquisition ever by an Indian firm. However, both sides emphasize the tentative nature of the talks, while The Economist magazine noted, “If anything, Bharti would be marrying up,” as MTN has more subscribers, higher revenues and broader geographic coverage. However, the talks fell apart as MTN group tried to reverse the negotiations by making Bharti almost a subsidiary of the new company. In May 2009, Bharti Airtel again confirmed that it was in talks with MTN and the companies agreed to discuss the potential transaction exclusively by 31 July 2009. Talks eventually ended without agreement, some sources stating that this was due to opposition from the South African government.
In June 2010, Bhartil led by Mittal acquired the African business of Zain Telecom for $10.7 billion making it the largest ever acquisition by an Indian telecom firm. In 2012, Bharti tied up with Wal-Mart, the US retail giant, to start a number of retail stores across India. In 2014, Bharti planned to acquire Loop Mobile for INR 700 crores, but the deal was called off later.

Sunil Mittal is doing alright you know. The man is a genius. Moreso, he has also been working towards educating India through the Bharti Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of the Bharti Group. The Foundation has established over 254 schools in villages across India and offers free quality education with free books, uniform and mid-day meals to poor children.
Isn’t that sweet? The man is also an angel… lol! This is what everyone should be pushing to do. Anyway I want to use this medium to congratulate the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari.

Nicholas Osondu Eberechukwu (jr) Orjika a.k.a Nicho Track is a Nigerian hip hop/RnB artiste. He is from Nnewi south in Anambra state and resides in Lagos state, and he was born on the 14th of July, 1994. Nicho Track is studying Sociology in the University of Lagos, but has interest in music and is determined to rise to stardom, but before that, Talksfriendite will give you details on Nicho Track’s life and career.

”Nico Track”, how did you come up with that?

The name Nicho Track was coined in school(Unilag). A yoruba friend of mine asked me of my native name and i told him Osondu, he asked of the meaning and i said “race of life”. Again he asked of my stage name and as of then i was called Nickoso, so he said he does not like Nikoso and he shouted TRACK! I spoke with some friends and they said i should add my name to that Track and we came to a conclusion Nico Track.

When did you develop interest in music and what/who inspired it?

I developed interest in music back in 2012 and i got inspired by listening to Wizkid and Drake(because am emotional like him).

How many songs have you released so far?

I have recorded four songs, my first two are freestyles and I used the other two to go for shows. I also have couple of songs I would release by the end of this month.

What message does your music convey and what makes it unique?

My music sends free spirit message that is, kill your sorrows, feel relaxed, work hard and let life flow. My personality and the way i flow makes my music unique. Am passionate.

What musical label do you want to be signed into?

I will be securing a contract with Bionic Media soon. Also i will love to get signed into other labels like Mavins, HKN, Star boy, or Eme.

Why Bionic Media?

Bionic Media is a label that has so much future potential for upcoming talented artiste like myself. Also,i think am going to be the first artiste once i get signed.

My mentors are wizkid, vector, tuface, don jazzy, sarkodie, kanye west and drake

What challenges do you face in your career at the moment?

The only one am really facing right now is financial challenge.

What inspires you to succeed?

Seeing my mentors succeed inspires me to put in my best so i can be better than them.

Where do you view your career in 5 years?

In 5 years time,i should be heading to the hall of fame. That is,be among those artiste that can not be compared with anyone. Example Tuface.

Wow!..you sure dream big. So, any word of advice to upcoming artistes like yourself?

My advice is……stay focused because the journey is not going to be easy, but it’s worth it. Just be humble and never give up.

You are studying Sociology at the UniLag, how do you combine that with music?

Combining music and school is easy, whenever am having no lectures, I go to a quiet place or even the library to write down my lyrics.

Apart from music, what else are you into?

Am into fashion designing for men (at the moment). And I plan on going into modelling.

Nicho Track is one rising star with a difference he is determined to succeed, he has performed on several shows, his performance at the Mr.Anambra Universe pageant in 2014 sparked fireworks. He is also very dashing and the ladies don’t hesitate to show him love and he claims to be a lover boy.
